An hour later, at the old Fu family residence.

Fu Siyen had not returned to his own home; instead, the old master had summoned him here.

Inside the study, the atmosphere was heavy.

Liang Min was also present, her expression dark and unsightly.

"Even if I hadn't gone to the banquet today, I still heard about what happened. You people are truly remarkable! Absolutely remarkable!" By the end of her words, Liang Min was almost laughing with anger.

She glanced at the old master with a look full of mockery. "You old fool, why don't you say something? Regretting it now, aren't you? You thought Mu Yinyin was unworthy and wanted to be rid of her, but now she’s the leader of Star Group! The leader!"

With such status, what could she possibly lack to be a match for Fu Siyen?

Grinding her teeth, Liang Min continued, "My granddaughter-in-law is so wonderful, so filial! She treats Fu Siyen better than anyone, but what about all of you? Do any of you truly appreciate her? Especially you, Fu Siyen!"

Those last three words were nearly shouted.

Fu Siyen's brows twitched, but he said nothing.

The old master frowned, turning to Liang Min. "What's the point of saying all this now?"

Liang Min laughed again, her anger barely contained. "What's the point? Wasn't it your poor judgment in the first place? If you hadn't kept trying to manipulate things, if that third party hadn't kept hovering around Siyen, would things have come to this?"

The old master's face was ashen, but he was in no mood to spar with Liang Min. He turned to Fu Siyen, his gaze grave. "Did you really not know about her identity?"

At this moment, the old master sat behind the desk in the study, while Fu Siyen and Liang Min occupied the sofa off to the side. None of their expressions were pleasant.

Fu Siyen's eyes were cold, his gaze icy.

"She hid it from the very beginning. She was never sincere with me—how could she possibly be good?"

He didn't know if those words were a response to Liang Min or simply said out of anger.

The old master's expression grew even darker as he looked at Liang Min. "See for yourself! Siyen had no idea about any of this. If she truly thought of him as her husband, why would she keep it from him? Wasn't she just worried about dividing her assets?"

"Nonsense! Yinyin must have had her reasons. If she cared about money, would she have left without taking a cent? Has she ever coveted your Fu family's fortune? You're the only one obsessed with money! In your eyes, it's all about profit, never about family!" Liang Min was so angry she was trembling, her words sharp and unyielding.

"You—!" The old master was livid, but in this situation, he didn't know what more to say.

He was afraid that if he spoke too harshly, he'd upset Liang Min. But if he said nothing, he'd suffocate from the frustration.

After a pause, he gritted his teeth and said, "Our Fu family is one of the most prominent enterprises in the country, unmatched by any. Even if she has Star Group, what does that matter? Siyen can find a woman far superior to her!"

Liang Min laughed. "And who would that be? Nan Shiqing?"

The old master fell silent, his face even grimmer.

He had once thought Mu Yinyin was worthless, not worth considering, and since Nan Shiqing had once saved Fu Siyen, if Fu Jingchen had wanted it, the old master would have turned a blind eye.

But now—

He spoke coldly, "Absolutely not!"

Fu Siyen lifted his gaze, looking at the old master without the slightest trace of displeasure, and swept his eyes over him indifferently.

The old master spoke again, voice stern. "Nan Shiqing is unworthy of you as well! Your ex-wife was the leader of Star Group; how can you settle for anyone lesser?"

"Mu Yinyin never truly considered you her husband, so her actions are understandable. Star Group is rising quickly now; there's no need for you to go against them. If cooperation is possible, all the better."

Liang Min snorted, "Didn't you look down on Star Group before? Why are you suddenly willing to work with them?"

Seeing both men silent and grim-faced, she sneered again. "Yinyin already said, if you want to cooperate with Star Group, you can't work with the Mu family."

Saying this, she fixed her gaze on Fu Siyen, her tone laced with sarcasm. "Isn't that your so-called savior? What now, you'll abandon your savior to work with your ex-wife?"

"Grandmother." Fu Siyen's expression grew even colder, but she was his grandmother; there was nothing he could do.

Liang Min gave a cold snort and turned away, refusing to speak further.

She couldn't be blamed for her sarcasm. From the beginning, she had never believed Nan Shiqing was truly Fu Siyen's savior.

She was experienced enough to recognize that girl’s scheming at a glance; everything she did was calculated. But Yinyin had always been genuine and sincere, which was why she ended up being played by that girl.

Fu Siyen stood up calmly. "I'm going back."

Liang Min snorted again, still angry with her grandson and ignoring him.

The old master looked at him. "It's late. Why not rest here for the night?"

"No." Fu Siyen turned and walked out.

The old master spoke again, "The Mu family—if you cooperate with them in their current state, you're only helping them, and they're not worth it."

Fu Siyen's face darkened further, but he said nothing and didn't stop. Soon, his figure had vanished from sight.

Liang Min remained on the sofa, glancing irritably at the old master. "You'll regret this! All of you will regret it! You've lost an excellent granddaughter-in-law like Yinyin! If you think you can find someone better, you're dreaming! You'll regret this!"

With those words, she got up and headed for her bedroom.

Ever since she learned of Fu Siyen and Mu Yinyin's divorce, she had barely eaten or slept these past two days, and she couldn't bring herself to call Mu Yinyin.

What would she even say? Try to persuade them to reconcile?

Yinyin's heart was dead, and Fu Siyen was so oblivious—any attempt at reconciliation would be pointless.

Should she say it's better that they separated? That Yinyin was finally free? She couldn't bring herself to say that either.

Liang Min took a deep breath and sighed.

Forget it. Each generation has its own fate.

She shouldn't selfishly insist that Yinyin remain a Fu family member; Fu Siyen was not worthy of her...

She felt sorry for Yinyin.

From now on, she wouldn't try to persuade them anymore, but she wouldn't give up on Yinyin as her granddaughter.

After a moment, Liang Min took out her phone. Normally, she would already be asleep at this hour, but she knew that for young people, the night was still young, and Yinyin was surely awake.

After a brief hesitation, she dialed Mu Yinyin's number.

At that moment, Mu Yinyin was still in the car.

Chatting with a few companions, she was interrupted by her phone vibrating, drawing her eyes to the screen.

Gu Xiaoqi asked curiously, "Who's calling?"

Mu Yinyin's gaze paused, then after a brief hesitation, she replied softly, "Fu Siyen's grandmother."
