Chapter 77: You Are Not Allowed to Enter!
"What did you just say?!" A moment ago, Jiang Rou’s composed expression vanished entirely, replaced by utter shock.
She stared intently at the man before her, eyes unwavering, locking onto him as if afraid to miss a single nuance.
"What do you mean? Speak clearly!"
Those few words left her unable to take her eyes off him for even a second.
Master Fu spoke in a grave tone, "She’s been hospitalized, but it’s not serious. You can go see her."
"What happened? How could she be hospitalized out of nowhere?" Liang Min immediately rose to her feet, ready to head out at any moment, but she wanted to understand the situation first.
"I’m not entirely sure about the details. But there’s nothing major to worry about. I’ll take you to see her now." Master Fu’s expression was somber; with just those words, he went to change his clothes.
Liang Min didn’t waste a moment, quickly following him to the dressing room to change as well.
Both moved swiftly, and in no time, they were in the car.
Sitting together in the back seat, Liang Min looked directly at Master Fu, her voice tinged with anxiety. "Tell me quickly, what happened? Yin Yin was fine—how could she be hospitalized? What’s going on?"
Her eyes brimmed with worry.
Master Fu frowned, gazing at her with a touch of helplessness. "The fact that I’m telling you means it isn’t serious. Otherwise, I’d be afraid you’d worry too much. If something truly terrible had happened, do you think I’d tell you?"
Liang Min’s face soured, but realizing the logic in his words, she relaxed just a bit and pressed again, "Then tell me what happened, will you? I’ve been asking for ages and all you give me are these useless answers!"
"I don’t know the specifics. Siyue didn’t tell me much. You’ll find out when you get there."
Liang Min frowned, but seeing her husband genuinely seemed unaware, she let it go.
After a pause, she turned her gaze back to him. "Why are you so considerate today, taking me out and even going to see Yin Yin? You never liked her."
Master Fu’s expression grew more awkward, but he retorted stiffly, "I don’t like her, but I care about you more! Why else would I take you to see her? It’s because your mood’s been bad, and if this continues, you’ll fall ill. You’re not young anymore—you can’t act as recklessly as you used to."
He said no more, his face grim.
Liang Min pursed her lips and said nothing. It seemed he had a point.
She frowned, looking at him again. "Once we get there, you should leave. Don’t be an eyesore inside."
"You...!" Master Fu’s face darkened further. "I’ve already brought you here, isn’t that concession enough? What more do you want?"
Liang Min laughed in exasperation. "Are you joking? If you stay, how can I talk freely with Yin Yin? How can she feel comfortable?"
"You..." Master Fu was genuinely helpless, but recalling their previous cooperation, he sighed, "I won’t treat her as I did before. Now that they're divorced, what else can I say? Don’t overestimate me."
Liang Min scrutinized her husband, years of marriage making her keenly aware that something was off. She spoke in a low voice, "Are you hiding something from me?"
Master Fu’s brow furrowed. "What would I be hiding from you?"
He seemed to glare at Liang Min, but his unease was palpable. When he was uneasy, his words betrayed him, and Liang Min grabbed his arm, questioning him in a stern voice, "Tell me, you must have something in mind. Otherwise, why would you suddenly be so kind and tell me about Yin Yin?"
"I was acting out of kindness, out of concern for you!"
"Nonsense!" Liang Min cursed in frustration.
She stared coldly at him, her tone irritable. "Is it because you see Yin Yin is now head of Starry Group, and you’re harboring ulterior motives? Are you hoping for them to remarry?"
Remarry.
She emphasized the word deliberately.
Master Fu’s face grew even darker. "Don’t talk nonsense!"
Seeing his obvious guilt, Liang Min said, speechless, "So it’s true! How could you be so outrageous!"
Though she longed for them to remarry, she didn’t want it to happen this way.
She was truly angry—how could the old man act like this?
"Enough, don’t let your imagination run wild. There’s nothing like what you’re thinking." Master Fu’s brows knitted tightly. He really had no plans to push for their remarriage; after all, there was still time to consider. Starry Group was growing rapidly and doing well, but compared to the Fu family, it still fell short.
"When we get there, you’re not allowed inside!" The old lady stared at him, her meaning clear, her voice commanding.
Master Fu spoke irritably, "Fine, fine, I’ll go out. But you can’t let Mu Yin Yin know I don’t like her."
"You never liked her anyway, does she really need to be told again?" Liang Min retorted without hesitation, making Master Fu open his mouth, "You..."
He suddenly didn’t know what to say.
"She’s been in our family for so many years, unacknowledged by you, unacknowledged by Fu Siyue. She’s always felt miserable. If she knows I accept her now, do you think it would make her feel better, help her recovery?"
Liang Min: "???"
She laughed again in exasperation. "So you do have an ulterior motive—bringing me along is just a pretext to fulfill your own purpose!"
"Nonsense! Is my affection for you fake?" The old man was clearly provoked, his face darkening dangerously.
"I’m done talking to you!" With that, Liang Min turned away from him, refusing to listen to another word.
Master Fu snorted coldly, equally unwilling to continue, and the car fell silent. The driver, meanwhile, enjoyed the rare peace—though he was already used to their bickering, being their exclusive chauffeur.
An hour later, the car finally slowed to a stop in front of the hospital.
