Chapter 77: Fleeing in Panic
Even though she knew he was just being flippant and loved to tease her, Nan Zhi couldn't help but grow both embarrassed and angry. Especially when his wicked black eyes swept over her lower abdomen—she instinctively pressed her legs together.
“Pervert!” she blurted, cheeks flushing as she shot him a mortified glare.
Before he could respond, she pushed open the car door and fled in a panic.
Mu Sihan laughed as he caught up with her, his long arm naturally draping over her slender shoulders. “Weren’t you the one who said I could have noodles tonight?”
Nan Zhi brushed aside his bothersome hand and strode to the elevator. Mu Sihan followed, pressing close behind. His handsome face leaned in at her ear, his perfectly sculpted jaw resting on her shoulder. He flicked her earlobe with his tongue, chuckling in a low, teasing voice, “Noodles, right? Did I say something wrong?”
The spot where his tongue had touched felt as though a serpent had darted over her skin—Nan Zhi’s hair stood on end. She shoved him away, trying to move aside, but he simply reached out and pulled her back into his arms.
His chin still propped on her shoulder, he murmured, “I haven’t eaten—my stomach hurts.”
Nan Zhi frowned, wanting to retort, when his husky voice sounded again by her ear, “I want to eat your noodles—”
He hadn’t finished before she jabbed him hard in the chest with her elbow.
“How can you be so vulgar?”
Just then, the elevator doors slid open. A neighborly old woman emerged, holding her little grandson’s hand.
She’d apparently overheard much of their conversation. As she exited, the look she gave the two of them was as strange as could be. As she walked away with her grandson, Nan Zhi overheard her grumbling in disapproval, “Young people these days are getting bolder and bolder. Xiao Man, when you grow up, you must behave properly.”
Nan Zhi was mortified, her face aflame. It had been years since she’d felt this kind of shame, the kind that made her want to burrow into the ground.
Once inside the elevator, she shot a fierce glare at the man beside her, who looked entirely unbothered. Instead, he feigned innocence. “You women have such vivid imaginations. And you have the nerve to blame me?”
Nan Zhi couldn’t bear to respond. When they reached the sixth floor, she took out her keys to open the door. He leaned in from behind, startling her. She turned instinctively, only to find his face so close. As she turned her head, her soft lips brushed the corner of his mouth.
Nan Zhi quickly leaned back to avoid his lips, but in the next second, he gripped the back of her head and crushed his lips to hers.
“Mmm… mmm…” Nan Zhi was almost suffocated by his kiss.
Knowing she disliked his kisses, he kept his restraint, releasing her just as she was about to run out of breath, and even managed to speak first, “You brought this on yourself—I had every reason to kiss you.”
Nan Zhi glared at him, eyes rimmed red, and scrubbed her swollen lips with the back of her hand. “Young Master Mu, I am not that kind of woman.”
Mu Sihan arched his brows, half-smiling. “I’m not that kind of man, either.”
“If you keep this up, I’ll—” Nan Zhi threatened.
He cut her off impatiently. “Enough with the nonsense. Go inside and make the noodles.”
This man!
Every time after forcing a kiss on her, his attitude was even worse than hers!
Nan Zhi pursed her lips and exhaled sharply, then opened the door and went in ahead.
Once she’d gone inside, Mu Sihan slipped his large hand into his pocket, pressing down on the discomfort stirring there. His face darkened as he cursed under his breath.
All that from just a kiss?
He lit a cigar. It was ten minutes before he finally entered the apartment.
Nan Zhi had already finished making the noodles and placed them on the coffee table in the living room. “They’re ready.”
The man glanced around her apartment with obvious distaste. “What kind of place is this? The living room isn’t even as big as my bathroom.”
