Chapter 111: The Choice
Ivan led Nan Zhi to the estate's garage.
Gazing at the rows of identical luxury sports cars and sedans that cost tens of millions each, Nan Zhi couldn't help but click her tongue in astonishment. That hot-tempered man was even wealthier than she had imagined!
"Miss Nan, you may choose one of these as your personal vehicle. I will arrange a driver for you shortly."
Having a personal servant who arranged not only luxury cars but also a driver left Nan Zhi feeling conflicted. That hot-tempered man must have decided from the very beginning to make her his woman!
"Steward Ivan, to be honest, I have already asked a friend to order a car for me." The vehicles in Mu Sihan’s garage were far too conspicuous; they were completely incompatible with her current status.
Ivan did not press her. He nodded, "Until your car arrives, I will arrange a driver and a vehicle for you."
"Alright, thank you for the trouble."
After saying goodbye to Xiaokai, Nan Zhi climbed into the most understated Maybach in the garage, arranged by Steward Ivan, and headed to the television station.
...
At the Nan family villa.
After being released from the detention center, Fu Sijing arrived at the Nan residence early in the morning.
Nan Yao was sitting at her vanity, applying makeup.
"Yaoyao, I heard from my brother that you almost had a miscarriage. What happened?"
Mentioning that incident filled Nan Yao with resentment. After she returned from the hospital following her bed rest, she had sent someone to check the surveillance footage at the Hyatt Hotel, wanting to see which vixen had seduced Fu Shaoxiu.
However, she was told that the surveillance for that night was broken; she had found nothing. Not only did she fail to catch the vixen, but she had also lost five million. Fortunately, Fu Shaoxiu had given her a credit card as compensation.
"Yaoyao, I hate Nan Zhi to death. You have no idea how terrified I was while locked in that detention center. Nan Zhi is a jinx; ever since she came back, we’ve had nothing but bad luck!"
Nan Yao’s hand, as she was penciling her eyebrows, paused slightly.
Could it be that the vixen who slept with Fu Shaoxiu was actually Nan Zhi?
"Yaoyao, that bitch Nan Zhi managed to get into the television station, but I couldn't. I really can't accept this." Fu Sijing pouted, looking as if she were about to cry.
A malicious glint flashed in Nan Yao’s eyes. She curled her lips into a cold, mocking smile. "Even if she’s in the station, there’s still a probationary period. If she isn't qualified, she’ll be weeded out just the same."
Hearing this, Fu Sijing’s watery eyes suddenly brightened. "So, if Nan Zhi is weeded out, I’ll have a chance, right? Yaoyao, tell me, what good idea do you have?"
Nan Yao leaned into Fu Sijing’s ear and whispered a few words.
The more Fu Sijing listened, the more she felt Nan Yao’s plan was brilliant.
"Yaoyao, you’re so smart. You’re Uncle Nan’s daughter, and the station belongs to your family. Anyone with half a brain would side with you; Nan Zhi will never be a match for you."
Nan Yao felt very satisfied by Fu Sijing’s flattery.
That was right; the television station belonged to her and her father; it had absolutely nothing to do with Nan Zhi. As of now, Nan Zhi was nothing more than a plucked phoenix in her presence.
...
Inside the television station conference room.
Han Mo was holding a meeting with the four new employees.
"Your probationary period is one month. The program *Dream Comes True* needs three intern hosts, and *Gourmet Wins the World* needs one. The directors of both programs will come by shortly to select their staff. You have half an hour to prepare some ideas and scripts for the shows."
*Dream Comes True* was a music-themed program launched by the station last year. Since its first season, its ratings had climbed steadily, and the host, Lin Wanyue, had become incredibly famous. Being selected as an intern host would be an excellent development opportunity—perhaps even a chance to quickly rise to popularity.
Conversely, the ratings and audience response for *Gourmet Wins the World* had always been mediocre. If things continued this way, it might face the risk of being canceled.
