Chapter 55: A Heart Stirred with Excitement
Three tall figures in sharp suits entered the corridor, led by a young man with striking features and deep-set eyes, his appearance suggesting he was of mixed heritage. Two assistants followed close behind.
“Oh my god, Yao Yao, are they holding the same custom spring collection as the queen of Country S? I saw the queen wear it online not long ago—this outfit is simply unattainable, no matter how much you pay!”
“How did my brother manage this? I truly admire him! Yao Yao, once you marry my brother, just wait to enjoy your life as the young mistress!”
“My brother knows Alvis and can even let me wear the same clothes as the queen—don’t you think my brother is incredible? I knew he’d taken the Fu Corporation to new heights in recent years, but I never expected he was impressive enough to invite Alvis in person!”
Fu Sijing cupped her face excitedly, her eyes sparkling with delight and amazement. She was fond of fashion and well-versed in haute couture. Ever since she’d read an exclusive interview with Alvis in a magazine, she’d idolized him. Young, handsome, and talented, every piece he designed set new trends. No matter the price, his clothes would sell out instantly upon release.
To Fu Sijing, Alvis was like a god in the sky, unattainable, and she’d never dreamed she would one day see him in person.
Nan Yao watched Fu Sijing bouncing with excitement and couldn’t help but frown in confusion. When she’d gone to the car to get the dress, she’d called Fu Shaoxiu, but only to mention how Nan Zhi had provoked her and torn Fu Sijing’s dress. At the time, Fu Shaoxiu hadn’t mentioned any surprise for Fu Sijing.
Even though Fu Sijing was his biological sister, Nan Yao had hoped to be the one to give her such a surprise. Having Alvis deliver the dress in person was an extraordinary honor. Fu Shaoxiu must have spent a great deal of effort and money. Spoiling his sister like this, Nan Yao couldn't help but feel a pang of displeasure and jealousy. Even for her, Fu Shaoxiu had never been so meticulous.
But just how had he managed to invite Alvis?
As Alvis approached, Fu Sijing couldn’t contain her joy. She hurried forward, beaming, and said, “Hello, Alvis, thank you for bringing the dress to me personally.”
Alvis glanced at Fu Sijing, noticing she was wearing a set from his spring collection, and asked with a hint of confusion, “Are you Miss Nan?”
Miss Nan?
Fu Sijing looked at Nan Yao in puzzlement. Did her brother arrange for Alvis to deliver the dress to Yao Yao first and have her pass it on?
Nan Yao was the first to react, excitement already curving her lips. So, in the end, Shaoxiu cared for her most—even his sister had to step aside.
“Mr. Alvis, hello. I am Miss Nan,” she said.
Alvis’s sapphire-blue eyes swept over Nan Yao, discreetly sizing her up. “You are Miss Nan?”
“Yes, that's me.” Nan Yao stepped forward, tilting her head slightly, her face flushed with happiness.
Hearing the commotion, Nan Zhi and Xiao Ting emerged from the adjacent dressing room. The moment Fu Sijing saw Nan Zhi, she couldn’t resist showing off. “My brother truly dotes on Yao Yao and me. As soon as he heard my dress was ruined by that wretch, he immediately contacted Alvis, who happened to be in Ning City. Nan Zhi, in this lifetime, you’ll probably only ever see Alvis in person because of us.”
“If you want Alvis’s autograph, you can try begging me. If I’m in a good mood, perhaps I’ll ask Alvis to sign something for you.”
