Yet Xiaokai showed not the slightest hint of fear.

He was even over there chatting and laughing with him, getting along quite harmoniously.

Nanzhi had to admit that her little treasure was much braver than other children.

Xiaokai tilted his head and spotted Nanzhi standing by the door. His face lit up with a brilliant smile as he waved at her. "Pretty Nanzhi, what are you doing standing there? Come on in!"

Nanzhi glanced at the man's back as he sat facing away from the door. Hearing that she was about to come in, he remained seated on the bed without moving at all, showing no intention of leaving.

Nanzhi walked in and was about to say something when she heard Xiaokai make an innocent request. "Pretty Nanzhi, tonight I want to sleep with you and Cool Uncle together."

Nanzhi nearly stumbled and fell flat on the ground.

She must have misheard, right?

Her precious Xiaokai had never liked her having close contact with other men. Back when suitors called her, the little rascal would interrogate her for ages.

How could he possibly suggest letting her sleep in the same bed with another man?

Xiaokai could tell Nanzhi was reluctant. In truth, he wasn't too keen on it either, but he had just lost the puzzle competition, and before the match, the sly Cool Uncle had proposed that whoever lost would have to grant the winner one request.

Who knew he could be so despicable and shameless as to actually ask to sleep with him and Pretty Nanzhi together at night?

"Mr. Mu, it's getting late. You should go back to your room and rest now." Nanzhi spoke up to remind him.

Mu Sihan paid her no attention. With his back to her, she couldn't see his expression. He simply cast a look at Xiaokai.

Xiaokai stood up on the bed, gazing at Nanzhi with a pitiful expression. "Pretty Nanzhi, I never got to meet my daddy who went to heaven. Ever since I met Cool Uncle, his broad shoulders and sturdy chest have made me feel like I have a daddy again..."

Watching the little one put on such a deeply aggrieved look as he spoke, Nanzhi's lips twitched.

This little traitor who was selling out his own mother!

He had no idea how that "Cool Uncle" of his had bullied his mom!

"Pretty Nanzhi, this bed is six feet wide. I'll sleep in the middle between you two, so Cool Uncle can't do anything bad to you!"

Nanzhi felt her temples throbbing with a dull ache. She had no idea what kind of spell this man had cast on Xiaokai to make the boy speak up for him!

"Pretty Nanzhi, I'm seriously ill, and maybe I can't be cured—"

Two voices cut off Xiaokai's unfinished words in unison.

"Shut up! You will definitely be cured!"

"Don't talk nonsense!"

There was a few seconds of silence in the room.

Xiaokai blinked his big, shiny dark eyes, looking at the man with his icy-cold expression, then at the woman with her delicate brows knitted tightly.

Suddenly he let out a surprised cry. "Pretty Nanzhi and Cool Uncle are so in sync!"

Nanzhi walked over to Xiaokai and pulled him into a tight embrace, her pretty little face stern as she scolded him. "Don't you ever say things like 'can't be cured' again!"

Xiaokai obediently nodded, wrapping his tender little arms around Nanzhi's neck and planting a soft, pink-lipped kiss on her angry face. "Alright, alright, Pretty Nanzhi, don't be mad. Let's all sleep together with Cool Uncle!"

Nanzhi had no idea what had gotten into the little guy tonight. Why did he insist on sleeping with Mu Sihan?

Could it be that he really wanted a daddy?

But she had a psychological shadow where Mu Sihan was concerned, and there was no way she could share a bed with him.

"Sweetheart, Uncle actually has a fiancée. If he sleeps with us, his fiancée will get angry."
