Since the Axe Gang had lost its standing, Brother Chen ran to the Blood Alliance, hoping they would speak up for the Axe men.
Laiman Lin, head of the Blood Alliance, agreed at once.
Not for any noble reason—only for the Kyoto territory.
And then there was that livestream video: rumors spreading everywhere said that the student Xiangnan possessed a mysterious talisman.
A second-tier cultivator had turned the tables and killed a fourth-tier tyrant, Fire-Cloud Evil Deity. Who would believe that if there were no treasure to aid him?
When such a precious treasure appears, how could Laiman Lin not covet it?
This time he even sent his own mistress, Alice.
The heavily made-up maid in a maid uniform was Alice herself, Laiman Lin’s favorite concubine.

Alice was a notorious venomous beauty: whoever met her would be corroded and consumed by deadly poison.
A woman’s poison was no less than that of a toxic flower.
Seeing that Xiangnan still had a stubborn pride, Alice flashed a coquettish smile.
“It’s nothing much,” she said. “I only want to make a deal. Hand over that treasure you used against Fire-Cloud Evil Deity, and I’ll let those two girls return safely to you. Otherwise…”
She flicked her fingers, and from her sleeve slipped a small turquoise snake.
“This is Little Qing, my pet, raised for years. You can imagine what happens if she bites one of these two peerless beauties, can’t you?”
In that moment, Alice had already aimed the snake at Su Yao’s pale neck.
By now Su Yao and Xu Jiya were both completely unconscious.

“If you dare touch them, I swear you’ll never see that treasure again,” Xiangnan hissed, each word clenched out through his teeth.
“Threaten me?” Alice said with a cold smile. “That trick does nothing to Alice.”
“That one then!” Xiangnan snapped, pulling a painted scroll from space and clutching it tight. “Move them, and the treasure can go to hell.”

He had heard the name Alice before; she was known as a poison-woman who made people lose their nerve at the mere mention.
“Come now, handsome boy, why so rigid? I didn’t expect you to be so sentimental. Alice likes innocent men like you,” she purred, licking her red lips in a deliberately seductive way.
“I don’t like you at all,” Xiangnan said flatly. Flirting with a woman like her only made him sick.

“Why? Am I not beautiful enough? Can I not match these two foolish girls who know no charm?”
“Get some nerve. At least I think you still have some self-awareness.”
Xiangnan truly felt a chill at her and couldn’t help but fire back.

“Damn it! You’re shameless!”
Alice snapped.
A woman could endure any indignity, but she could never bear a handsome man saying she was ugly.
Especially with two girls in front of her who were even prettier.
“Kill them first, then I’ll deal with you!”
Before the words were fully out, Alice moved Little Qing back toward Su Yao.
The snake coiled, its fang-lined head opening wide, poised to strike Su Yao’s neck.

“Wait!”
For once Xiangnan’s cry came with real panic.
It is known everywhere that the brighter a venomous snake, the stronger its venom.
Alice’s little snake was fully turquoise and even shimmered faintly, unmistakably deadly.
If it bit even once and they couldn’t feed Su Yao and Xu Jiya the herb that revives from death in time, their lives would likely end here.
That was something Xiangnan absolutely could not allow.
With a shout, Alice pulled in her finger, and only then did she restrain the snake that had been about to attack.

“What now? Regretting it? Weren’t you enjoying the way you snarled at me earlier?”
Her face was all softness and cruelty. After a pause, she cooled. “I’ll give you one last chance. If you care so much for those two, then trade honestly. Hand over the treasure.”
Xiangnan was drenched in sweat, blood on his bitten lips, and the fire in his eyes burned harder.
And yet, with Su Yao and Xu Jiya in her hands, Xiangnan was forced to yield.
“The treasure can be yours,” he said, “but first, wake them both. I need to know they are unharmed.”

As soon as Xiangnan finally relented, Alice and her men let out a hint of triumph.
They had already discovered that Xiangnan was exceptionally gifted, and that he had awakened an extradimensional space during his ancestral reversion.

That space could not be seen or touched; unless Xiangnan himself was there, no one could even find a door to it.
The treasure lay inside his space—if he did not choose to give it, nobody had any answer.
“You cooperate, and I won’t bother them further.”
Alice produced a delicate little bottle and waved it beneath Su Yao’s and Xu Jiya’s noses. Soon, both began to wake.

“Fine. I’ve done what you wanted. Where is the treasure?” Alice sounded impatient.
“Brother Xiangnan, don’t give it to her!” As soon as Xu Jiya woke, she understood everything and rushed to stop him, while signaling Su Yao with her eyes.
“Damn it, this is too vile! You cannot give it to her!”
“Little Nan, you said that treasure was your family inheritance. How can something hereditary be handed out like trinkets? And besides, with that artifact in your hand, why not just kill them all yourself? Like with Fire-Cloud Evil Deity—make them explode into dust and silence.”

“Shut up!” Alice slapped Su Yao hard. “One more word and I’ll cut off those cat ears! I detest beautiful women, and I do not coddle them!”
Even then, a muscular henchman stepped up behind her, one hand pinching Su Yao’s cat ear, the other drawing a dagger as if to cut it clean away.
“Motherfucker! Who the hell dares to cut her ears? I’ll destroy this treasure right now!”
Xiangnan clenched the scroll in fury as if to tear it apart.
Who the hell said she could have her ears cut? Those ears I haven’t even had my fill of yet!
Alice immediately caught herself, shot the man a look, and he stepped back, though the dagger in his hand still flashed with cold light.
Seeing that Alice was still tense about the scroll, Xiangnan gave a hard smile.
“Release them, and the scroll is yours.”
“How do I know the scroll in your hand is genuine?” Alice said, suspicious.

The tale of Baihua Alliance and Black Shadow Alliance brawling over a fake treasure had already spread through the underworld.
Alice would not be so stupid as those men, who started fighting without checking authenticity and ended up with nothing but ruin.
Xiangnan had expected this gambit.
With a subtle movement of his hand, the scroll suddenly rose into the air and shed a soft blue radiance.
