Chapter 46: I Won't Stop You; I'll Go With You!
Xu Qingshan, who had just awakened, was already at the end of his strength.
Looking at Xu Jiya, blood and tears welled in his eyes. He then glanced at Xiang Nan, wanting to say something, his lips parted for a long time, but no words emerged.
The doctor nearby shook his head repeatedly. “In his current state, the patient has only a few minutes left. If there’s anything he wishes to say, he’d better say it now.”
At these words, the room was filled with even more heart-wrenching sobs.
Xu Qingshan’s gaze grew dim as he struggled to speak. The injection from the doctor was meant to help him leave a few last words.
“Dad, just say whatever you need to. We’re all listening,” Xu Jiya said, wiping her tears and doing her best to keep her composure.
She knew her father was beyond saving and must have much left to entrust.
Beside her, Xu’s mother’s gaze finally found some focus as she looked sadly at Xu Qingshan.
Yet, no matter how hard he tried, Xu Qingshan could not muster the strength to speak.
Xiang Nan approached the bedside. “If you can’t say it right now, don’t force it. There’s no rush. Whatever you want to say can wait a little longer.”
Everyone was stunned by these words.
Wait a little longer? Would he still have the strength to speak? At this point, he was barely breathing out, let alone in!
Wouldn’t he be a silent corpse in just a moment?
Still, they understood the Young Master meant to comfort Xu Qingshan, though his words seemed rather unrealistic.
Xu’s mother, choking with tears, said, “Young Master, please let him speak. If he can’t say his last words, he won’t die in peace.”
With a sigh, Xiang Nan pulled out a single blade of the Resurrection Herb and placed it directly in Xu Qingshan’s mouth.
“Steward Xu, trust me. Swallow this herb—it can save your life.”
At this, the crying ceased, and everyone exchanged bewildered glances.
All knew Xiang Nan was skilled in medicine, but no one had ever heard of him bringing someone back from the brink of death!
The two doctors nearby were utterly speechless.
“Young man, are you joking? The patient is beyond hope, and you’re making him eat something random?”
“A wild herb like that, saving a life? Not even novels would dare write such nonsense!”
But at that moment, a glimmer of hope lit up in Xu Qingshan’s dying eyes.
No one wants to die if they can live.
Hearing that there was still a chance, regardless of truth or fiction, Xu Qingshan swallowed whatever was given.
Xiang Nan’s words, for Xu Qingshan, were the true shot in the arm.
The will to live spurred his feeble mouth into motion.
He chewed a couple of times, and the small Resurrection Herb quickly slid down his throat and into his body.
Everyone was still in shock.
How could Xu the Steward, who couldn’t even speak, swallow something so quickly?
The next second, Xu Qingshan—whose body had been battered beyond recognition—began to heal at a speed visible to the naked eye.
His twisted features swiftly returned to normal.
Wounds once bloody and raw sprouted new flesh, and his skin became smooth and supple.
Everyone’s eyes widened in utter astonishment!
This was beyond a miracle—this was divine intervention!
“Damn! He really came back to life!”
After a long pause, a high-ranking disciple of the Hawk Alliance exclaimed from the heart.
He blushed, realizing his words were a bit inappropriate.
But glancing around, he saw everyone was still lost in shock—their own thoughts likely echoed his own.
Very soon, Xu Qingshan threw off his covers and sat up abruptly on the bed, full of energy and vitality.
“Ah, hahahaha! Xu Qingshan lives again!”
His joy overflowed.
“Dad, I thought I would never see you again…” Xu Jiya threw herself into his arms, weeping with relief.
“Silly girl, your father has a strong life—death can’t take me!” He looked up at Xiang Nan with gratitude. “Good! Good! Young Master, from today on, this life of mine is yours!”
Xiang Nan smiled slightly. “The Hawk Alliance cannot do without its Steward Xu. You’ve just recovered, you should rest well.”
But Xu Qingshan leapt to his feet. “I’m sturdier than an ox now. That spiritual herb of yours healed me completely. I never imagined someone so young could possess such miraculous medical skills!”
“Miraculous? It’s not just miraculous—he brought you back from the dead!” one of the doctors in a white coat added, still swaying with disbelief.
The others in the room finally came back to themselves, showering Xiang Nan with praise.
“The Young Master is truly a divine man!”
“With the Young Master’s miracle medicine, our brothers in the Alliance need never fear injury or death on a mission!”
“With the Young Master in the Hawk Alliance, we’re sure to flourish forever!”
“In my opinion, unifying all seven alliances of the Nine Provinces is within reach!”
“Yes! Absolutely!”
Xiang Nan’s face darkened at those words—unifying the seven alliances of the Nine Provinces? That was a stretch.
“Something’s wrong!” someone exclaimed suddenly, “Su Yao has gone to take revenge on the Hatchet Gang!”
“What?!”
Everyone was alarmed, and Xu Qingshan’s face turned grave.
“That girl is too reckless! She’s gone alone to confront the Hatchet Gang—she’s walking to her death! All these years, the Hatchet Gang has run rampant in the capital because they’ve recruited several third-tier experts with heavy bribes. With Su Yao’s current second-tier strength, how can she possibly match them?”
Hearing this, Xu Jiya began to panic. “Yao Yao is doing this for me! I must go save her!”
Even as she spoke, she was already rushing to the door.
Xiang Nan grabbed her arm. “Jiya!”
“Brother Xiang Nan, don’t stop me! Yao Yao is my dearest friend—I’d risk my life to save her!”
Xu Jiya’s eyes, still swollen from crying, now blazed with vengeful fire.
She had always been rational and clever, but now, with her best friend in danger, she’d lost all composure.
Xiang Nan held her firmly, his gaze resolute. “I’m not stopping you. I’m going with you.”
“I’m coming too!” Wu Liang’s fists clenched and veins bulged on his forehead.
“Young Master, we’re coming as well!” Several Hawk Alliance brothers in the room now stood united in their resolve.
The Hawk Alliance and the Hatchet Gang had been rivals for years, their conflict over territory within the capital a constant struggle.
Xu Qingshan, newly recovered, got up and waved his hand. “Let’s not be rash. We must rescue her and avenge this wrong, but we need a plan.”
He had been careless before, which was how he’d fallen into the Hatchet Gang’s elite ambush during a high-level mission.
As everyone hesitated, Xiang Nan stepped forward, holding another Resurrection Herb.
A smirk played on his lips. “We’re blessed with many lives. With revival armor, brothers, follow me—let’s take down that damned Hatchet Gang!”
Having just witnessed the Resurrection Herb’s divine power, there was nothing left to fear.
Seven or eight of them, all Hawk Alliance elites—at least second-tier, five-star and above, some even third-tier. With revival armor, their courage soared.
As for Xu Jiya, Xiang Nan’s storage space was well stocked with hidden weapons for her.
And so, in high spirits, the group piled into the car and sped off straight toward the Hatchet Gang’s headquarters.
