Chapter 35: The Boss Yang Haoran (First Update!)
The required number of players had been reached, and a multitude of gamers appeared one after another in the Quality Square.
At that moment, Yang Yu was still quietly explaining to Su Xiaohan the important details she needed to pay attention to next, lamenting the brevity of time. Had there been more, Yang Yu would have wished to impart every bit of his understanding about this game into Su Xiaohan’s mind.
Witnessing the harmonious scene before him, Yang Hao felt immense satisfaction. His earlier efforts had not been in vain.
Retracting his gaze, Yang Hao’s eyes fell upon the screen in front of him, and the smile on his face quickly froze.
The game account Yang Hao was using now wasn’t his own, but Wang Xin’s—who had just been sitting there moments ago.
Ordinarily, this wouldn’t have mattered, but the problem lay in Wang Xin’s account ID.
That ID was simply infamous!
“Neighbor Wang!”
Few were unaware of this moniker. From the information those four words conveyed, even Yang Hao couldn’t help but admire the ambitions of this chubby fellow—he was truly a role model for most men.
Of course, Yang Hao swore that among these men, he himself was certainly not included.
With that thought, Yang Hao couldn’t resist turning his head. Behind him, he quickly spotted the chubby Wang with lofty aspirations, his gaze carrying a hint of approval.
Young man, you’re quite mischievous!
You’ve got potential—keep it up!
Faced with Yang Hao’s inexplicable look, Wang Xin felt a shiver run through him, forcing a smile onto his otherwise resentful face.
Smiling outwardly, cursing inwardly.
That phrase perfectly described the inner state of the chubby Wang who’d been banished to the corner earlier—looking at Yang Hao’s sudden, inexplicable smile, Wang Xin’s heart was filled with a faint sorrow.
This was too much—Yang Hao suddenly smiled at him, and Wang Xin feared he was about to commit some nefarious act.
He likely didn’t know that, thanks to his account ID, Yang Hao now secretly appreciated him a bit more.
Fortunately, Yang Hao merely offered Wang Xin a bit of “encouragement” before quickly withdrawing his gaze, allowing Wang Xin, who felt immense pressure, to breathe a sigh of relief.
The wait for the flight passed swiftly; as the computer screen changed, everyone found themselves on the airplane.
“Where are we landing?” Yang Yu voiced his inner question on the plane.
Ordinarily, Yang Yu would make the call himself, but today, with Zhang Tian and Yang Hao present, he was relegated to the supporting role.
Yang Hao glanced at the flight path, passing through N Harbor, the Airport, P City, and other resource-rich, popular cities, and casually said, “Let’s go with the airport!”
Hearing Yang Hao’s answer, Yang Yu’s hand trembled, and he felt a sudden urge to slap himself.
If he had known Yang Hao would choose that, he shouldn’t have asked. He could have quietly marked a spot himself.
Let’s not forget, he had a complete novice, Su Xiaohan, beside him.
Bringing a newcomer to such a place—wasn’t that courting disaster?
Thinking it over, Yang Yu cautiously suggested, “Bro, how about we pick somewhere else?”
Yang Hao glanced at Yang Yu, then at the earnest-faced Su Xiaohan, instantly understanding Yang Yu’s intentions. He changed his mind, “Alright, G Harbor then!”
Seeing Yang Hao switch to G Harbor at the tail end of the flight path, Yang Yu felt relieved—though not entirely at ease, it was far better than the airport.
He had an unshakable shadow regarding the airport.
Enter ten times, and seven or eight times you don’t make it out; the two or three lucky escapes often ended with him delivering fat loot to those lurking outside.
As the plane passed over the airport, many jumped, leaving the number of players on board significantly reduced. Over the airport, it looked as if dumplings were dropping from the sky, one after another.
Watching the rapid change in player numbers on the screen, Yang Yu wiped his brow in relief. Thankfully, they hadn’t jumped here—otherwise, he wouldn’t even know how he’d died.
The plane sped onward, players continued to jump, and as it neared G Harbor, around twenty players remained on board.
This made Yang Yu tense.
He knew not all would choose G Harbor; some would head for the upper or lower districts, but he still felt uneasy, especially when his gaze fell on Su Xiaohan beside him.
Sensing Yang Yu’s gaze, Su Xiaohan’s cheeks flushed.
Soon, the plane was over G Harbor, and Yang Hao and Zhang Tian jumped immediately.
Following them, Yang Yu and Su Xiaohan also exited the plane.
In-game, their characters, under Yang Hao’s control, plummeted toward the ground.
At low altitude, with a dull sound, the parachutes deployed fully, and each person drifted gently downward.
Earlier, Yang Hao had already noticed quite a few jumpers nearby, but the other squads were heading for the upper or lower districts. Only one other team, besides theirs, chose to drop directly onto G Harbor.
The main area of G Harbor wasn’t large, with simple structures—mostly warehouses and clusters of containers—making for efficient looting and quick enemy elimination.
Usually, landing at G Harbor meant fighting was inevitable; one misstep and you could end up dead on arrival.
Yang Hao’s strategy was to land directly atop the containers, offering a clear view of the loot spawning on them and making it easy to observe enemy movements and search efficiently.
He wasn’t the only one with this idea.
As Yang Hao landed steadily on a container, he quickly scanned his surroundings and saw two players heading toward the warehouses. Meanwhile, another person appeared atop the containers.
Crucially, Yang Hao and this player were very close.
Even more coincidentally, there was a small pistol at the other player’s feet, while in front of Yang Hao lay a small machete.
Seeing this, Yang Hao couldn’t help but smile.
As Yang Hao rushed toward the machete, the other player bent down and picked up the pistol, loading it rapidly.
Soon, the opponent finished loading, and Yang Hao had the machete in hand.
When the other player saw Yang Hao charging at him with the machete, he hesitated for a moment.
But then, he sneered.
He had a pistol, after all, and cold weapons like machetes—before they could even get close—would be dealt with easily.
He raised his pistol, aimed at the running Yang Hao, and pulled the trigger.
Bang!
The gunshot shattered the tranquility of G Harbor.
However, after the shot, the shooter frowned.
Yang Hao had dodged the bullet.
Bang! Bang!
Two more shots followed; only one hit Yang Hao’s arm—not fatal.
Seeing Yang Hao nearly upon him, after missing another shot, the opponent had no choice but to grit his teeth and jump off the container.
If he stayed, his life would be in danger.
Just after landing, as he turned to fire at Yang Hao again, he saw the machete looming large in his vision!
With that scene, a powerful announcement rang in his ears, stunning him.
“Neighbor Wang knocked down Brother Awang with a machete!”
As the notification appeared on the screen, Yang Hao didn’t even spare a glance at his fallen victim, striding away without a backward look.
Watching Yang Hao’s swaggering departure, machete in hand, the man who’d been downed clutched his belly and lay prone, the earlier message echoing in his ears.
“Yang Haoran, the King of Tung Lo Wan!”

PS: This chapter is to make up for the update I promised yesterday.
Last night, I spent ages writing this chapter, but found it messy and deleted it all. After coming back at noon, I spent three hours rewriting it. Don’t ask why I’m so talented—it’s all thanks to my mom!
