“Mom, I told you, there’s nothing wrong. It’s just a relative of mine visiting!”
“Don’t lie to me. Once we get to the hospital, the test will tell the truth. Start the car!”
...
At the Cheng residence.
“Who did this to the Second Young Master?”
Seeing Cheng Sanfei being carried back, Cheng Chu, the family patriarch, angrily questioned the dozen or so thugs.
“Master, it was… a kid named Chen Feng…”
The lead thug replied tremblingly.
“Were there many of them?” Cheng Chu pressed on.
“No… it was just one… one person… but that kid is probably a martial artist. We stood no chance!”
Smack!
Cheng Chu slapped the thug across the face. “You useless bunch! Pack up and get out immediately!”
Helping Cheng Sanfei up, Cheng Chu’s face was full of concern. “Sanfei, how do you feel? Should we go to the hospital?”
Cheng Sanfei waved his hand. “Dad, I can’t let this go. It’s time to call Grandpa out of seclusion. I’m going to kill that bastard.”
The old master of the Cheng family had gone into seclusion in the old mansion more than ten years ago after a massacre wiped out an entire household. Since then, he hadn’t left his room.
The family business was formally handed to Cheng Chu at that time, and the old master disappeared from the public eye.
Outsiders even thought the old master had passed away.
“No, your grandfather has strictly instructed not to disturb his cultivation unless it’s a matter of life and death!”
Cheng Chu pondered and firmly refused Cheng Sanfei’s request.
The old master was the family’s last trump card; he would not be called upon except in dire circumstances.
It was even rumored that the old master was a martial artist, a rare fact known to very few—even within the Cheng family.
“Dad, am I just going to be bullied like this?”
Cheng Sanfei couldn’t swallow this insult!
“Don’t worry, Dad will settle this for you!”
With that, Cheng Sanfei took out his phone and made a call. “Hello, Master Jiu, let’s meet tonight at the Huiyuan Nightclub!”
After hanging up, Cheng Sanfei gave his father a thumbs-up. “Dad, you’re the smart one. How did I forget about Master Jiu?”
Master Jiu was the head of the underground forces in New Sea City, leader of the Dragon Gate Sect, with tens of thousands of followers, including many martial artists.
“By the way, Sanfei, Dad’s prepared a gift for you for the welcome party at the Cityscape Group tomorrow night. Remember to bring it—don’t go empty-handed!”
“Also, you’ve been with Cityscape Group for three years. Have you managed to win over Murong Lan yet?”
Cheng Chu inquired.
The Cheng family business was large, but compared to international conglomerates like Cityscape Group, it was insignificant.
Cheng Sanfei’s goal in joining Cityscape Group was to win over Murong Lan and take control of the entire group!
“Sigh! Speaking of Murong Lan, it makes me angry. I’m always obedient to her, but she never looks at me properly. Yet, she massages that bastard Chen Feng and even kissed him.”
Thinking of that incident, Cheng Sanfei’s hatred for Chen Feng surged—he wished he could tear him apart right now.
“Is he the martial artist who beat you?”
Cheng Chu asked.
“Yes, that bastard.”
“I understand. When I see Master Jiu tonight, I’ll have him deal with that guy.”
Cheng Chu’s expression turned grim. Master Jiu’s Dragon Gate often handled the family’s dirty work.
“Dad, there’s one more thing. Isn’t the real CEO of Cityscape Group coming soon? Even if I capture Murong Lan, I might not be able to take over the whole group.”
Previously, the Cheng family thought Murong Lan was the boss of Cityscape Group, but now they realized she was just an acting CEO. The real CEO would appear tomorrow night.
Cheng Chu smiled confidently. “I bet Murong Lan will still be the one giving orders. Why would the real CEO get involved personally?”
“As long as you can win over Murong Lan, our Cheng family will become the largest clan in New Sea, monopolizing the city and becoming its absolute ruler!”
Nightfall.
Private Room No. 1, Huiyuan Nightclub.
Cheng Chu sat opposite a ruddy-faced old man leaning on a cane. Behind the old man stood two burly middle-aged men, obviously martial artists of considerable strength.
“Master Jiu, here’s the payment.”
Cheng Chu got straight to the point and slid a bank card across the table.
One of Master Jiu’s men immediately took the card, swiped it through a POS machine, and whispered something into Master Jiu’s ear.
Master Jiu smiled with satisfaction and asked Cheng Chu, “Master Cheng, that’s quite a generous offer—ten million. Which rich young master are you planning to ‘deal with’?”
Cheng Chu shook his head. “It’s a brash outsider who’s been bullying my son just because he’s a martial artist. I’m asking Master Jiu to take him down…”
He didn’t finish the sentence but made a throat-slitting gesture.
“A martial artist? What level?”
Master Jiu paused, realizing this wasn’t a simple job.
If it were just an ordinary martial artist, Cheng family’s strength would easily handle it with more men.
“Don’t worry, Master Jiu. He’s just a kid under twenty. How strong can he really be?”
Cheng Chu chuckled.
“Deal!”
Once Master Jiu heard the target was under twenty, he promptly agreed.
Martial arts cultivation is a long, difficult process. Even with talent, someone under twenty couldn’t be too powerful.

In a hotel suite.
Chen Feng, fast asleep, was abruptly awakened by a sharp knock on the door.
“Who is it?”
He got up and opened the door.
As soon as it opened, a graceful figure rushed in, tiptoed, and kissed Chen Feng on the lips.
“Damn… Third Senior Sister!”
Chen Feng smirked and gave Murong Lan a playful squeeze.
“What? Didn’t want to see me?”
Murong Lan smoothed her glossy black hair, rolled her eyes, and teased him.
She was dressed provocatively—a deep V-neck, ultra-short skirt—both alluring and somewhat innocent.
“I haven’t seen you in years, Third Senior Sister. I’ve missed you so much!”
Chen Feng said, wrapping his arms around her slender waist as they walked into the room.
By the bed, Murong Lan clasped Chen Feng’s neck, her gaze dreamy.
“Third Senior Sister, what are you up to?”
Chen Feng immediately pushed her away. That wasn’t allowed.
Murong Lan didn’t answer but leaned in, their eyes locking in somewhat awkward intimacy.
“You little brat, if you want, Third Senior Sister will…”
“No thanks… don’t push your luck.”
“Oh? Playing coy now?”
With that, Murong Lan pinched Chen Feng’s chin.
Chen Feng glanced at her chest. “Looks like you’ve done well for yourself these years—grown up a lot!”
Murong Lan pulled him closer with one hand while covering his mouth with the other. “Don’t speak. I’m giving you another chance. You better not waste it!”
Chen Feng shook his head and sat down in a chair. “Third Senior Sister, don’t tease me. I’m not ready to die yet!”
Murong Lan stood up and fixed her clothes, smiling. “Not bad, little brat. Your willpower’s strong—you’ve grown up!”
She glanced down at Chen Feng’s lap.
Chen Feng quickly adjusted his posture. “Since you came to see me, it must be for more than just teasing, right?”
Murong Lan sat on Chen Feng’s lap, hands around his neck. “Someone wants you dead. Are you scared?”
