Volume One, Chapter Two: The Thirteen Needles of Yama
“What? Go to the back? Lie down and take off your clothes?”
The woman was furious, her voice loud and sharp.
She had seen shameless people before, but never anyone quite so brazen.
“Nonsense. You have malignant tumors in both breasts. You have to take off your clothes and lie down for surgery, right? And it can’t be cured otherwise!”
“If I can cure you, what’s wrong with taking off your clothes? How else can I insert the needles or apply pressure?”
“Honestly, trying to help you and you accuse me of being a pervert? I’m done with this!”
With that, Chen Feng opened the car door and stepped out.
Kindness mistaken for insult—who wouldn’t lose their temper?
The woman quickly got out, opened the rear door, and climbed inside, shouting, “Don’t be angry! I’ll do as you say, okay?”
She truly did not want to die. Chen Feng’s words made sense, so she decided to cooperate with the treatment.
“Apologize!”
Chen Feng didn’t look back, just spat out the two words.
“You…”
The woman was about to lose her temper, but Chen Feng had already taken a step away.
“Sorry!”
The woman swallowed her pride.
“What was wrong?”
Chen Feng turned and asked.
“I shouldn’t have suspected you of being a perverted rogue!”
She replied, but inwardly swore, “Damn scoundrel, if you can’t cure me, I will make you pay!”
“Still suspicious?” Chen Feng asked, satisfied.
“No more!”
“Will you cooperate? Every second wasted increases the risk!”
“All right, I’ll cooperate!”
The woman was extremely embarrassed but turned her back to Chen Feng and complied.
Everything was ready. Chen Feng waved his hand, and thirteen silver needles shot out, hovering above the left side of the woman’s body.
“Controlling needles with Qi—a divine doctor indeed!”
Seeing Chen Feng’s technique, the woman murmured softly to herself.
This method of acupuncture was something she had seen once when she was five years old in the Tianshan Mountains. She vaguely remembered the revered old doctor was called the Tianshan Medical Sage.
Swish, swish, swish!
Chen Feng waved again, and thirteen more silver needles appeared, hovering above the right side of her body.
“The Thirteen Needles of Yama, deploy!”
With Chen Feng’s command, his hands danced, and the two rows of needles instantly pierced the left and right sides, thirteen on each side, arranged in precise order.
“Ugh…”
The woman let out a painful cry, her body trembling slightly. Black energy wafted from the needles, and black smoke seeped from her pores.
“Withdraw!”
A minute later, Chen Feng retracted the needles.
“If you’ve met me, consider yourself lucky. Across the world, only my master and I can save you!”
---
Chen Feng put away the silver needles and proceeded to the next step of treatment.
“Wait… what are you going to do?”
The woman panicked, trying to stop him, but found herself unable to move.
“I’m treating you, saving your life,” Chen Feng replied.
“But… didn’t you just insert the needles?”
“I told you, treatment requires both needling and Qi manipulation.”
“Oh… that’s right.”
“Exactly. Next is the Qi therapy!”
Without further ado, Chen Feng concentrated his Qi, and a faint white light emanated from his palms.
His hands moved continuously, dark energy swirling, seeping into the woman’s physical strength.
“Ugh…”
The woman cried out in pain again, trembling slightly, and the car shook a little.
Though this was a normal medical procedure, an outsider’s perspective told a different story, one ripe for misunderstanding.
“Damn… shameless! And so loud too!”
“Exactly, the world’s gone downhill, morals have decayed. Ugh!”
A passing auntie couldn’t help but complain and spat toward the car.
Meanwhile, some old perverts lingered outside, craning their necks to peek inside the car.
The tinted windows blocked their view, but some dared to press against the glass to see better.
But with Chen Feng present, how could they succeed?
With a surge of dark energy, he struck them from afar, sending those lurking around the car sprawling.
“Get lost!”
A powerful sound wave frightened the group into a panicked retreat.
At that moment, Chen Feng completed the Qi therapy, handed a tissue to the panting woman, and said, “Your illness is cured. Goodbye!”
Then, he walked away.
“Wait, are you sure I’m cured?”
Though the woman felt much better and the lump in her chest was gone, she wanted confirmation.
“If you don’t believe me, go get checked at the hospital!”
“May I ask your name?”
“My master says, good deeds don’t require a name!”
With that, Chen Feng strode toward his fiancée’s home.
“Right, I’ll go to the hospital and check right away!”
The woman tidied her clothes and immediately sped toward Xinhai City People’s Hospital.
---
At the Liu family hall in Xinhai City,
Chen Feng stood in the center of the hall while a graceful woman holding a marriage certificate appraised him from head to toe.
“A country bumpkin?”
“Something like that.”
“Does he own property in Xinhai?”
“No.”
“Has a car?”
“No.”
“Any savings?”
“None either.”
Slap!
Su Xuemei slammed the marriage certificate down on the table and pointed angrily toward the door.
“A poor nobody dares to come marry my daughter? It’s like a toad trying to eat a swan. Get out!”
As she spoke, she grabbed a jade bottle Chen Feng had brought and smashed it on the floor.
With a sharp crack, two black pills spilled onto the ground.
“Do you even know what you just smashed?”
Chen Feng asked Su Xuemei with a smile.
“I don’t care what it is. It’s trash no dog would eat!”
“Heh, those are Nine-Turn Rebirth Pills. They can bring the dead back to life even after breath has ceased. You call that trash?”
“I spit on your so-called Nine-Turn Rebirth Pills. Why don’t you say they’re divine elixirs that can make you ascend to heaven after one bite?”
At that moment, a well-dressed man in a suit carrying a briefcase strode in confidently.
“Oh, Young Master Cheng, what wind blew you here?”
Upon seeing Cheng Sanfei, Su Xuemei immediately switched to a warm, accommodating demeanor, a complete reversal.
Cheng Sanfei glanced disdainfully at Chen Feng, adjusted his suit, and sat down.
Su Xuemei quickly served tea and even stood behind Cheng Sanfei massaging his shoulders, like a devoted admirer.
“Young Master Cheng, my lady entrusted me to ask if you’ve made any progress?”
Upon hearing Su Xuemei’s question, Cheng Sanfei smiled and said, “With me handling it, how could it fail? But Aunt Su, what about the marriage between me and Ruyan?”
Su Xuemei’s face lit up with joy. “As long as Young Master Cheng helps the Liu family secure the big project to develop the western suburbs from the Qincheng Group, I promise Ruyan to you!”
“Good!”
Cheng Sanfei pounded the table and stood up, handing Su Xuemei three invitations.
“The behind-the-scenes CEO of Qincheng Group has arrived in Xinhai. There will be a grand welcome party tomorrow night. Come with me, and I’ll make a proper introduction. The lucrative western suburbs project will surely go to the Liu family.”
Su Xuemei took the invitations with excitement, beaming. “Oh, wonderful! Only Young Master Cheng has the ability. Ruyan is truly lucky to have caught your favor.”
Chen Feng muttered quietly, “Has my master’s wife already told Third Senior Sister about me coming down the mountain? And a welcome party too? Are they playing such a risky game?”
Su Xuemei approached Chen Feng, sneering, “Look at you, a country bumpkin daring to bring a fake marriage certificate. Here, take these two worthless pills. Who do you think you are?”
“Look at Young Master Cheng, who just secured a major deal for the Liu family to become one of Xinhai’s top clans. Aren’t you ashamed? How dare you still stand here?”
Chen Feng smiled calmly. “It’s just a trivial order, yet you fawn over it and even sell your own daughter?”
“Shut up! Get out of here right now! The Liu family doesn’t welcome you!” Su Xuemei shouted angrily.
Cheng Sanfei stepped forward, casting Chen Feng a disdainful glance, his arrogance on full display.
“Kid, you’ve got some nerve coveting my woman.”
“I’ll give you one chance to crawl out of here alive. Otherwise, you’re done for!”
