Chapter Three: Deception! And More Deception!

Amnesia~
Yu Fei looked at Alice’s bewildered face and naturally understood what had happened.
Beneath this seemingly normal Western-style mansion was actually a hidden Umbrella Corporation biochemical laboratory.
Not long ago, a virus leak occurred in this underground Umbrella lab. To contain the virus, the AI known as the Red Queen, which controlled the lab, immediately sealed off the entire facility.
During this process, to prevent anyone from escaping, it also released a large amount of hypnotic gas.
This hypnotic gas specifically targeted biological nerves, and once inhaled, it would severely impact the human brain.
The ultimate result was—coma and temporary amnesia.
Alice had inhaled this hypnotic gas, which explained her temporary memory loss.
“What a coincidence, me too…” Yu Fei was about to respond this way, crafting a ‘lost memory’ persona for himself.
Since Alice had already regained consciousness, the Umbrella Corporation’s assault squad would probably arrive soon.
This was a fully armed special forces team, with combat capabilities comparable to Navy SEALs!
Yu Fei had come to this world dressed only in pajamas, with no identity whatsoever. Now that the lab had encountered such a crisis, if this team found him, they would likely treat him as a corporate spy and eliminate him on the spot!
The only way to bluff his way through was to temporarily bind himself to Alice and come up with a temporary ‘identity’.
Suddenly, a flash of inspiration crossed Yu Fei’s mind.
“The power of merit points is truly formidable; even at Combat Level 1, its effect is evident.”
Such powerful merit points would be hard to obtain.
The reason he had been able to gain some merit points so easily just now was partly due to a newbie gift pack, but more likely because of Alice!
As the true savior, Alice’s weight in this world must be incredibly significant.
“If I can influence Alice…”
Yu Fei’s eyes gleamed.
…
“I am an Interpol agent!”
“Interpol agent?!”
“That’s right!”
Yu Fei spoke with righteous confidence.

“Then who am I?”
“You are our… ahem, you’re our informant!”
“Informant?!”
Alice’s face showed confusion. She glanced at Yu Fei’s pajamas, then looked down at her own body wrapped only in a towel.
So…
Was this some sort of role-playing game?
Interpol agent and informant?!
Given their current appearances and the environment, it was hard for Alice to believe their relationship was as simple as that.
She regarded Yu Fei with a suspicious look.
Yu Fei’s expression remained unchanged, but his peripheral vision casually glanced at the surveillance monitor in the upper left corner.
The monitor glowed red, indicating it was still operational.
Since Yu Fei had awakened—no, since he had suddenly appeared here—the monitor had been focused on him.
‘The Red Queen, huh…’
Many thoughts crossed Yu Fei’s mind, but he suppressed them all.
No matter the issue, none was more important than earning merit points!
He continued speaking.
“I saw the message you sent me via pigeon, saying something had gone wrong here, so I came.”
“Pigeon?”
Alice, who had been skeptical, suddenly paused upon hearing ‘pigeon’.
An image of herself sending a message with a pigeon flickered in her mind.
‘Could it be that I really am an informant for Interpol?’
Alice felt even more confused.
The best lies are mixed with truths.
The more real elements included, the harder it is to distinguish.
Though the film didn’t elaborate much, some scenes confirmed that not only Spence but Alice herself had betrayed the Umbrella Corporation.
Unlike Spence, who acted purely for profit, Alice genuinely wanted to eliminate the Umbrella Corporation’s cancer.
“Then why am I here? And why have I lost my memory?”
Alice asked.
Yu Fei pretended to ponder for a moment, then said:

“If I’m not mistaken, you must have inhaled Umbrella’s hypnotic gas, causing partial temporary amnesia.”
“Temporary amnesia?”
Alice sighed in relief, then quickly grew anxious.
“How did I suddenly inhale the gas? Could it be that Umbrella has discovered my identity?”
Clearly, she was beginning to accept her role as an ‘informant’.
“That’s possible!”
Yu Fei stroked his chin mockingly, then proposed his ‘hypothesis’.
“But from what I observe, it’s not just you. The entire Umbrella underground lab is in serious trouble!”
“If it was only your problem, it wouldn’t affect the whole lab. So I guess the problem started deeper in the lab, and you were just caught up in it.”
“Deeper in the lab?”
Alice frowned, instinctively sensing a strong unease.
“What exactly are they researching beneath this lab? What kind of consequences could arise if something goes wrong?”
She asked urgently.
Her instincts told her this was a very serious matter!
“Ahem! I’ll tell you about that later. For now, put on some clothes…”
Yu Fei looked at Alice, who was so agitated she was almost fully exposed, and kindly reminded her.
“Ah?!”
Alice looked down and quickly covered herself, feeling embarrassed as any woman would.
But she soon composed herself, wrapping her body in a towel and continued.
“We’ll talk about dressing later. Right now, the lab’s problem is more important!”
“Uh, I don’t really mind talking like this, but if the lab’s in trouble, Umbrella will send people here soon—maybe they’re almost here now... Are you sure you want to meet them like this?”
“...Alright.”
Alice finally changed into her iconic red dress, which looked both sexy and alluring.
Yu Fei took the opportunity to change into Spence’s casual clothes. Though a bit ill-fitting, it was much better than his pajamas!
Yu Fei had planned to discard his pajamas but decided to keep them.
“Biotech in this world is pretty twisted. If they extract my genes from these clothes and produce a bunch of ‘Yu Fei’ clones, that would be bad!”
