The hard, cold floor startled Yu Fei awake from his sleep.

“Where am I?”

Looking around at the bathroom before him, Yu Fei was confused.

Wasn’t he sleeping in his room? How did he suddenly end up in a bathroom?

And this bathroom wasn’t even in his house!

Was it haunted?!

Just as this thought formed in Yu Fei’s mind, he turned his head and saw a very familiar face—Milla!

Milla Jovovich!

A top Hollywood actress—well, she used to be.

“Wait! I thought Milla was already old?”

Yu Fei stared at the young version of Milla before him, feeling a complex mix of emotions.

Ruling out pranks—though that possibility was slim, as he was just an ordinary person; who would play such a trick on him?

Eliminating all impossibilities, the only remaining explanation, no matter how absurd, was that he had traveled through time!

And most likely, he had directly crossed into the world of Resident Evil.

Yu Fei’s expression soured.

Of all the worlds he could have traveled to, why did it have to be this one?

This was a world extremely hostile to ordinary people. Thanks to the Umbrella Corporation’s machinations, the T-virus outbreak had infected the entire globe.

Within just a few years, the global population had plummeted from billions to mere hundreds, bringing human civilization to the brink of destruction.

Although he seemed to have arrived at the beginning of the outbreak, before the crisis had fully erupted, the Umbrella Corporation had long planned everything.

The global spread of the T-virus was an absolute certainty.

Because the Umbrella Corporation was overwhelmingly powerful.

In the Resident Evil universe, Umbrella was a super conglomerate that overshadowed even national governments.

Even if you tried to expose them online, it would be futile; controlling the media worldwide, Umbrella could easily manipulate the truth.

Umbrella could even brazenly drop nuclear bombs on its own American territory!

From this alone, one could gauge just how terrifying Umbrella truly was.

So...

“System?”

“Main deity?”

“Chat group?”

Yu Fei silently called out in his mind but received no response.

“Surely they wouldn’t expect an ordinary guy like me to clear the Resident Evil world?”

A wave of panic swept over Yu Fei.

In this world, it wasn’t just the unfathomably powerful Umbrella Corporation, but the ubiquitous zombies that posed a deadly threat to him.

“What should I do?”

Yu Fei instinctively turned his gaze to Milla—or rather, Alice.

In the Resident Evil series, Alice was the undisputed protagonist, ultimately ending the bio-apocalypse with her own hands and restoring hope to the world.

Clinging to the main character?

That might be a good idea in other worlds, but Alice was an exception—those who stayed close to her usually ended up dead!

“Clinging to her is out of the question, but…”

Yu Fei glanced at Alice, his eyes filled with admiration.

At this moment, Alice was lying sideways in the bath, facing him directly.

Only a thin curtain covered her most intimate parts—a piece she had torn off before losing consciousness; otherwise, she would have been completely exposed.

Though partly covered, much of her pale, flawless skin was still visible, giving a tantalizing sense of mystery.

This was the young Milla Jovovich, after all!

Who could resist such temptation?

Without hesitation, Yu Fei reached out his hand—to pull the curtain up, covering her body properly.

Taking advantage of someone’s vulnerability?

Yu Fei had his limits!

There was no way he would do such a thing!

“Ding!”

“The host acted with kindness, accumulating great merit!”

“Merit points +1!”

“Merit system activated!”

Yu Fei fell silent for a moment.

Then he pulled the curtain back down, once again revealing the alluring pale skin.

After a pause, he draped the curtain back over her again.

“No reward this time?”

Disappointment flickered across Yu Fei’s face.

He did have principles—just that they were a bit flexible...

“System!”

Yu Fei silently called again.

In an instant,

A blue, translucent panel appeared in his field of vision.

Physique: 0.8

Mind: 1.0

Merit points: 1

“Isn’t this system a bit too simple?”

After a brief complaint, Yu Fei began to study the rudimentary merit system.

Though it looked extremely basic and lacked any AI assistance, it still contained some foundational information.

For example, the physique attribute included all factors related to the body: strength, speed, endurance, defense, reflexes, resistance, and so on.

The mind attribute combined soul strength, learning ability, comprehension, thinking, calculation, and related faculties.

A normal, healthy human would have both physique and mind values at 1.0.

Yu Fei’s mind value was at the normal healthy level.

“My body’s actually unhealthy?”

Yu Fei wanted to argue with the system but glanced at the small potbelly on his stomach.

“Forget it, I’m magnanimous. I won’t hold a grudge this time, but mind your manners next time!”

Setting aside the physique and mind attributes,

Yu Fei focused on the merit points.

Looking at that attribute, his eyes lit up with eagerness.

The Resident Evil world was perilous—whether he could survive in this extremely dangerous realm depended entirely on how powerful these merit points were.

“Can I upgrade everything?!”

His eyes gleamed as he immediately focused on himself.

If everything could be upgraded, then surely he could upgrade himself?

He prepared to strengthen his body—at least to shake off this suboptimal condition!

But when the moment came, Yu Fei suddenly hesitated.

“What can one merit point really do to improve my body?”

No answer came from the system.

It was a dim-witted system with just a hint of thinking.

Though there was no reply, Yu Fei could guess the truth.

Even if merit points were precious, just one point couldn’t possibly double his physique.

If anything, it might only restore his physique to a healthy 1.0.

Based on how many systems worked, one merit point might equate to just 0.1 in attribute value.

Meaning, if Yu Fei invested this point in physique, he could at best raise it to 0.9.

What difference did 0.8 to 0.9 make?

Still subpar health!

“Maybe I should think another way…”

A sudden spark lit up in Yu Fei’s mind.
