Volume One, Chapter 66: The Forbidden Land
Inside the grand hall, the Sect Master Liu Tao stood before the foremost statue, Elder Sun by his side. He gave a slight nod to the three who entered.
Song Jia and Zhou Xu had heard tales of these statues and were unsurprised. Ji Die, however, was visiting for the first time. Gazing upon the statue at the front, he thought how heroic it appeared—it must have been a formidable figure.
“These statues are our Seven Mysteries Sect’s forebears. The one at the front is our sect’s founder,” Elder Sun declared solemnly.
“Bow to the ancestors!”
Zhou Xu, Song Jia, and Ji Die all showed grave respect, bowing in unison.
“It’s been hundreds of years since the founder disappeared…” Liu Tao sighed softly, withdrawing his gaze from the statues and turning to face the three before him…
“Elder Bai, I’m not being modest—Xiuyuan truly has rare talent for martial arts, and his determination is exceptional. With such qualities, it would be hard for him not to succeed!” Qin Ce lifted the teacup before him, his expression filled with approval.
With a faint scoff, seeing she could not be driven away, Zhuang Ying wasted no more words. She merely glanced up at the thick, dark clouds rolling in from the distance, her smile deepening.
“Sigh, that’s not what I meant! Since you’ve said as much, what else can I say? I’ll just risk my life to accompany you, then! Let’s hope nothing goes wrong this time.” Xuan Xinzi could only reply helplessly.
After a while, an aged NPC dressed as a hunter emerged from the forest. He lingered beneath a tree, then picked up the wild rabbit and left.
“William, I created you and I can destroy you. You’ve truly disappointed me!” Roddy fixed him with a stare, intent on obliterating him in an instant. In Roddy’s view, the zombie he created was supposed to be mere cannon fodder, a shield in times of crisis—yet this creature seemed even more afraid of death than himself.
The princess’s robe slipped gently from her shoulders, revealing her fair skin. Many could not help but steal a few more glances.
But Shen Yiyi, once she lay down, did not get up until the next afternoon. She neither went out to find work nor plotted her future; aside from wandering the backyard, she spent her time murmuring to Li Gui.
“All right, go rest for now. Once you’re recovered, we’ll proceed to the next task,” Wang An said.
I can’t be certain, but this thing has an overwhelming pull on me. Even when the boss of Taiyi was in that dire state earlier, most of my attention was still drawn to this object. Deep down, I sense that this is the spirit-forged ghost we’ve been searching for.
“Since Lord Murong makes it sound so easy, why not do it yourself?” The man in the cloak raised his brows at Murong Jian, his eyes gleaming with open mockery.
“Are you doing well over there?” Ji Wuche’s voice held a subtle temptation; already low and languid, it became even more alluring with such deliberate inflection.
Bai Yu crouched down, struggling to untie the knot while disdainfully nudging the tongue of the Queen Bedbug farther away with his foot.
“Father only punished him, not his household. Those who came bearing gifts must be from his residence,” Rui Tianling explained.
Han Feng unleashed his soul power, successfully holding up the part of the formation that Niu Sheng had activated, keeping it intact and preventing a collapse.
Everyone was stunned. Meng Diexian narrowed her eyes slightly—so, the emperor had long known about Chen Hongfei’s new identity.
Watching the two figures quickly disappear into the distance, the young man’s lips curled into a cold smile: So you want to escape? Not so easy.
“Tell me, have you ever held me in your heart?” Rui Tianling’s voice was gentle, tinged with hope.
Yet, after today’s provocation, she found herself not only more assertive but also more confident than before.
Leaving the snowy mountains, after about forty minutes, faint lights appeared ahead.
Wang Xingxin rode his mare straight for Chang’an! First, he went to the residence of Changsun Wuji, explained his purpose to the gatekeeper, and soon after, the steward invited Wang Xingxin into the main hall.
Last night, Lu Ping had already learned from Wu Song about the subtle relationship between Old Tiger Zhang and the landlord Zhang.
Ah, the moment she hit the ground, every part of her body that made contact ached. Yet the pain in her body was nothing compared to the ache in her heart.
Before the group could approach, Chu Tiankuo expertly flung stones from his right hand, each one striking a bandit with precision.
Helpless, Qin Yong had no choice but to summon a servant from the former workshop who could drive a carriage and had him assist Wang Xingxin onto it.
Who still remembers the dashing Second Young Master Wang? Who recalls being the forever honored county lord whose strategies once brought merit?
If so, then apart from himself, the other three imperial heirs have all been defeated. All conditions are now ripe. The time has come.
As she pondered, Li Yang began to form a preliminary plan for exploring the Underworld: to trace the great river upstream to its source, believing this method far more reliable than aimlessly wandering without a clue.
Suddenly, a thunderous roar echoed from afar, and flames shot skyward—visible even from a great distance.
If you wish to leave, don’t worry about me. Just tell me you no longer love me, that you intend to go.
It is precisely because Einstein was so popular in New York that our Master Yuan chose not to stay in the heart of the capitalist world, but instead came to the political center of the United States.
In any case, it was once the land of the Zhuzi Kingdom. If the servers must be merged, so be it—after enough time, it’s nothing unusual. As long as it once was that place; as long as it once had high mountains and flowing streams and bore the name Zhuzi Kingdom, that is history, that is the past I yearn for.
A surge of energy at the Manifestation Realm suddenly erupted. From the moment the sealing talisman appeared, Lu Tianming understood that the crisis the artifact spirit had warned of had arrived.
As she lowered her head, Mo Yuncong avoided the surveillance on one side, unable to suppress the flicker of excitement in his eyes.
Wan Li glanced at the IV drip and said, “Call me if you need anything,” then stepped out, closing the door behind him.
Rong Shaochen turned to glance at her, an unusual look flashing in his eyes. He opened his mouth as if to speak, but said nothing and looked away.
The Dao Leaf Sword is a divine weapon on par with the ultimate imperial arms. Even though it was merely a casual strike from Ming Yiran, it was not something ordinary beings could withstand.
Zhang Shaofei looked back and saw a middle-aged man in police uniform with thick brows, large eyes, a square face, and a neat crew cut, looking spirited as he beckoned to him. Zhang Shaofei glanced around—no one else was present. Puzzled, he pointed at himself. The middle-aged officer nodded.
The sudden surge of Zhang Fei’s presence startled all the soldiers. The deputy general, stunned, blurted out.
“Hey, why have you been so absent-minded since leaving the inn? What exactly happened?”
“Get ready. When my battle hymn is finished, it will be time.” Ai Erfei glanced at the ranks of mermen soldiers arrayed within the fortress walls below, his expression grave as he spoke.
