Green Leaf first came to know Red Robe last winter, while writing Marriage by Design, because of that bewitching Zhao Jiqing. To say we came to know each other is perhaps too much; in truth, we only exchanged words a few times in the comment section. Later, when Marriage by Design ended, our contact naturally faded away as well. Then this winter, on the fourth day after the launch of the new story Abbot, Red Robe appeared in the comment section for the first time. At the time, Green Leaf simply felt that an old friend coming by was already something deeply heartening and encouraging.

Who could have guessed that from the very next day after Red Robe appeared, people would begin arriving one after another out of affection for Red Robe, coming to show support. Comments, bookmarks, gifts—there were truly so many that Green Leaf was left dizzy. To say something rather embarrassing, in a year and a half Green Leaf has written four completed public novels, yet even combined, the gifts received from all of them do not equal what this story has gathered after only twenty thousand words.
