Chapter 84: Arrival of the Human-Tier Powerhouse
Chapter 84: The Arrival of a Human-Tier Powerhouse
White Wolf, Black Wolf, and the other three, battered and disheveled, burst out from the crevice. This time, they had underestimated their enemy, whose strength was enough to suppress them completely.
Individually, they might not have feared their opponents and could have even emerged victorious in a duel. Yet among their foes, Yi Tian's power surpassed even the peak of the ninth tier. Blood Wolf, who was on par with a late-stage ninth-tier master, could not withstand even a few dozen strikes from Yi Tian before meeting his demise, not lasting long enough for his companions to slay their own adversaries.
Especially after Yi Tian killed Blood Wolf, the balance instantly tipped in their favor, forcing the five to retreat for the time being.
“We’ll block the exit. The moment they come out, we’ll slaughter them all. I want to see just how long they can hold out!” White Wolf said, his face twisted with malice.
“Indeed, that’s a good plan!” Black Wolf, Gold Wolf, Shadow Wolf, and Gray Wolf all agreed, their faces lit with excitement.
The five of them guarded the narrow crevice that permitted only one person at a time, forming an impenetrable barrier. Even a peak ninth-tier master would find it hard to withstand their combined assault. They could trap their foes inside, and no matter how fiercely they counterattacked, the five would not be breached. Even if only two guarded the entrance, they could block out thousands.
The first to charge out from the crevice was Yi Tian. The moment he emerged, several terrifying sword and blade auras, brimming with murderous intent, tore through the void, striking at him.
This was a joint assault from five ninth-tier warriors. Even a peak ninth-tier master would be forced to retreat back into the depths of the crevice, or risk being grievously injured or killed outright. The attacks of ninth-tier warriors were not to be taken lightly.
Five ninth-tier strikes—Yi Tian, even with all his skill, could not block them all. The only option was to retreat to the safety of the crevice. Otherwise, he would be gravely wounded or slain.
Yet at that very moment, Yi Tian vanished into thin air.
“What!?” White Wolf, Gray Wolf, Black Wolf, and the others stared in disbelief.
In the next instant, Yi Tian reappeared before Black Wolf.
With a single sweep of his flaming sword, he beheaded the utterly unprepared Black Wolf. The scene was so shocking that his true strength finally revealed itself, stunning all present.
Within the cramped mining tunnel, stretching only a few dozen yards, Yi Tian, Yi Feng, Yi Shan, and the others had their powers greatly restricted. Their divine movement techniques could not be fully unleashed. Now, at the bottom of Peach Blossom Valley, Yi Tian’s secret movement technique displayed its terrifying might—impossible to guard against.
“Run!” White Wolf shouted and was the first to flee, true energy surging through his legs as he sped away like a gale.
Gold Wolf, Gray Wolf, and Shadow Wolf scattered in different directions. Yi Tian’s strength was now far beyond what they could resist. To remain would be certain death—their only hope lay in escape.
Yi Tian pursued one of them.
Yi Feng, Yi Shan, Yi Li, Yi Hong, Yi Kuang, Yi Zhen, and the others emerged from the crevice as well. Upon spotting the fleeing invaders, they darted after them like lightning. For these intruders, only total annihilation could ensure their secret remained safe.
Screams echoed from all directions in Peach Blossom Valley as fierce battles raged. Soon, the cries were abruptly silenced.
After regrouping, Yi Tian and his companions found that not a single member of Jingmu’s Seven Wolves had escaped alive.
Their top-tier human-grade secret arts played a decisive role. The divine movement technique allowed them to unleash terrifying combat power, enough to suppress even a peak ninth-tier master, who would ultimately be slain.
Yet, Yi Tian and the others still harbored doubts about these unexpected intruders; they had no idea how the enemy had discovered the crevice. This made them even more vigilant—they realized that the secret of Peach Blossom Valley could be exposed at any moment.
Having eliminated all the invaders, Yi Tian and his group were preparing to return to the underground mine.
At that moment, a figure suddenly appeared above Peach Blossom Valley. The man glanced down, then descended.
Yi Tian was the first to sense the change. He looked up to see a stern-faced man descending from the sky, step by step.
Yi Zhen and the members of the Reincarnation Squad turned pale. They hadn’t expected that a human-tier powerhouse would happen to pass by, witness the slaughter below, and become suspicious enough to investigate personally.
“Who are you, sneaking around here? Have you discovered any clues to the legendary treasures?” the man demanded. As he appeared above Yi Tian and his companions, a powerful, overwhelming aura burst forth, pressing down on them like a mountain weighing thousands of pounds, making movement difficult.
Meanwhile, his spiritual sense locked onto them, ready to kill at the slightest provocation.
He was a man whose authority radiated even in silence—eyebrows sharp as blades, murderous intent gathering between them, a hint of savagery lurking beneath his composure. It was clear he was ruthless, decisive, and domineering.
Yi Tian remained on guard, prepared to strike at any moment. “We have indeed found a clue…” he said.
A flash of surprise crossed the human-tier powerhouse’s face.
“Die!” Yi Tian suddenly attacked, unleashing a beam of sword energy that shot toward the man with lightning speed—so fast that even the Reincarnation Squad couldn’t track it, their minds unable to react, as if he had teleported.
The stern-faced man’s expression changed; he hastily raised his hand, true essence surging to block the attack.
But the sword energy tore through the true essence around his palm, pierced his hand, and sped toward his head.
Though the palm slowed the attack by a fraction of an instant, the man reacted in time, tilting his head to avoid certain death. Even so, a fine line of blood appeared on his face.
Furious, the man could not believe that a mere ninth-tier warrior dared to strike him, piercing his hand and wounding his face. For a human-tier powerhouse, this was an intolerable humiliation.
“You will all die, but before that, you will tell me what you found!” the man thundered. His murderous aura exploded, sweeping the area with violent winds for hundreds of yards.
As he prepared to strike, Yi Tian acted again, producing a talisman engraved with a sword shadow. Pouring his surging true energy into it, the treasure hungrily devoured at least a third of his reserves before stopping—Yi Tian now fully controlled the talisman’s restriction.
With a thought, the restriction broke. Under his guidance, a terrifying surge of sword essence erupted into a beam of energy fifty or sixty yards long, its razor-sharp aura piercing everyone present.
“Perish!” Yi Tian roared, sending the massive sword energy slashing toward the stern-faced man, shredding the surrounding void.
The man was aghast—before he could counterattack, he could only hastily summon his defensive essence. The sword beam crashed into him and the ground, carving a trench two to three hundred yards long.
The five members of the Reincarnation Squad and Yi Zhen were left speechless. In the span of just a few breaths, Yi Tian had destroyed a human-tier powerhouse. That massive sword beam could annihilate any warrior below the human tier.
