Volume One, Chapter Eight: This Is My Home—Rebel Against You All
Before Lu Qian could react, he was kicked and sent flying. Lu Tingxiao, his face cold, scooped up the heartbroken Tang Dou, who was crying bitterly.
“Wuwuwu~”
Tang Dou buried her little face in his shoulder, her sobs trembling through her shoulders.
“Daddy, bad people are bullying me, brother, and mommy.”
Boom—
A bolt from the blue.
Lu Qian stared in horror at the scene before him, stunned for a long moment.
These two are… Uncle’s children?!
How could this be?!
As Madam Lu entered, she immediately saw Lu Qian lying on the ground. Furious, she was about to question Qiao Ye, but her gaze met Lu Tingxiao’s grim stare.
In an instant, her anger diminished by half.
“Grandma.”
Lu Qian grabbed her hand anxiously. “What’s going on? They’re Uncle’s kids, so why do they call Qiao Ye ‘mom’?”
Madam Lu paused, then realized the situation and grew even angrier.
“Oh, Qiao Ye is the children’s godmother. What nonsense are you making here?!”
Lu Qian was dumbfounded.
At that moment, only one thought consumed his mind: it’s over.
Meanwhile, Chu Yun’er stubbornly stepped forward to mediate.
“Uncle, it’s a misunderstanding, just a misunderstanding…”
“A misunderstanding?”
Lu Tingxiao’s aura grew even colder, dropping several degrees. “What a fine misunderstanding.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the faint rustle of footsteps came from outside.
“Hurry up and throw it out. Mr. Lu said everything must be cleaned out within ten minutes!”
Everyone in the room hurriedly ran out.
Outside, several bodyguards began throwing out the contents of Chu Yun’er’s room without hesitation.
“What are you doing?”
Madam Lu was furious. “This is my home. Are you rebelling against me?!”
“Stop, stop right now!”
Lu Qian hurriedly shouted.
“These people were called by me,” Lu Tingxiao said steadily, setting down Tang Dou. “If anyone tries to block this, they’ll be thrown out with this woman.”
The same blunt words were directed at Lu Qian as well.
Lu Qian and Madam Lu fell silent, their faces flushed with embarrassment as they watched the belongings being tossed out.
Chu Yun’er anxiously grabbed Lu Qian’s hand, her eyes reddening. “Qian… Didn’t you say you’d give us a better life? Yuanbao is still so young. You let him go through all this—what will we do…”
Lu Qian’s heart ached fiercely. Just as he was about to speak to Lu Tingxiao, Madam Lu quickly stopped him and shook her head.
Lu Tingxiao grabbed Tang Dou and Doubao, his gaze icy as he looked at Lu Qian. “Within ten minutes, don’t let me see her in the Lu family again.”
With that, he returned to the children’s room and slammed the door shut.
Madam Lu nudged the troubled Lu Qian, signaling him to make a decision quickly.
Lu Qian furrowed his brows, torn and conflicted.
He couldn’t bear to leave Chu Yun’er and Yuanbao, but what he cherished even more was the Lu family’s wealth and prestige.
They had just discussed a solution yesterday, and no matter what, he couldn’t let this opportunity slip away.
In just a few seconds, his decision was made.
“Yun’er.”
He gritted his teeth and said to Chu Yun’er, “I’ll find a place for you and Yuanbao to live outside.”
He glanced toward Qiao Ye’s room. “Once Uncle calms down, I’ll definitely bring you back.”
Chu Yun’er dug her nails into her flesh.
Her heart was filled with resentment, but she could only swallow it.
How could she have known the two children were Lu Tingxiao’s!
If she had, she would never have deliberately said those things in front of Doubao.
Right now, if she refused to leave and made Lu Tingxiao even angrier, then the wealth and prestige would truly have nothing to do with her.
She had to endure.
For now, endurance was the best strategy—retreat to advance.
Besides, Lu Qian’s heart was entirely with her now; he wouldn’t just abandon her. Even if he did, she still had Yuanbao, and even a lawsuit could secure a considerable alimony...
Thinking this through, Chu Yun’er feigned obedience and nodded. “Okay, I’ll listen to you. I don’t want to cause you trouble, so I’ll leave first…”
Lu Qian felt even more grateful to her.
He tenderly patted her head. “You’re always the most sensible.”
After seeing Chu Yun’er off, Madam Lu harshly berated Lu Qian. “Didn’t I tell you? At a critical moment like this, you can’t afford any mistakes!”
“Grandma, I truly didn’t know they were Uncle’s children.”
Lu Qian was filled with regret. “Now what do you think I should do? Uncle must be really angry.”
“What else can you do!”
Madam Lu was furious. “Go find Qiao Ye. If you can coax her, maybe she’ll say a few words for you in front of Lu Tingxiao.”
Lu Qian was reluctant but had no choice but to go to Qiao Ye’s room.
Once seated, he spoke with rare gentleness, “Xiao Ye, I’ve sent them away. Don’t worry. If you don’t like those two mother and child, I won’t let them come back.”
“I won’t cause trouble anymore or make you angry.”
It was the first time since returning that he showed weakness to Qiao Ye.
Qiao Ye glanced at him coldly, inwardly amused.
“All these years, I was the fool. You handled everything alone; managing a whole company is no easy task. Yet I blamed you without knowing the facts.”
Lu Qian continued, “I know my limitations; I can’t manage a company well, so you should still be the CEO.”
Qiao Ye quietly watched his performance.
“I know the four major shareholders have been giving you a hard time lately… Don’t worry, I’ll handle this properly for you.”
As he spoke, he took her hand.
“But… I might need to go to the company with you.”
Qiao Ye looked down at their hands, her gaze darkening. “Alright, then you’ll come with me.”
Lu Qian thought she had accepted, nodding with a smile. “I owe you. I regret only realizing your worth now. I’ll treat you well from now on.”
So magnanimous?
Qiao Ye wanted to laugh but maintained a perfectly cooperative expression.
“Good. As long as you understand.”
“Can you say a good word for me to Uncle?”
Qiao Ye was speechless.
So he’s been waiting here for her all along.
