Volume One, Chapter 8: Big Brother, Save Me!
Qi Wuxie’s face was expressionless as he coldly said, “The Zhou family? I will settle the score with them sooner or later!”
“Speak. Who sent you this time?”
Qi Wuxie threw Zhao Hu to the ground and stomped on his knee, shattering it completely.
“Ah!!”
Excruciating pain surged through Zhao Hu’s body, his face instantly pale, large beads of sweat rolling down his cheek.
“Zhou Tai... it was Zhou Tai who sent me!”
“He told me to take care of you and also your sister for Mother. I don’t know anything else!”
Zhao Hu hurriedly spoke, cold sweat pouring from his pain.
“Zhou Tai?”
At the mention of that name, a murderous intent flared in Qi Wuxie’s eyes!
Five years ago, it was Zhou Tai who ran him down with a car!
He would never forget that face!
“It seems Shen Xuan’er must have informed Zhou Tianhao that I’m still alive, otherwise Zhao Hu wouldn’t have been sent to deal with me!”
“You’re really courting death. Tomorrow, I will make sure to bring a special gift to your wedding!”
Qi Wuxie’s mind was clear.
Since Zhao Hu came armed, this was no simple vengeance; he had come to kill him!
Combined with what had happened earlier that day, it was easy to deduce that Zhou Tianhao had learned Qi Wuxie was still alive.
Bang!
Qi Wuxie crushed the other knee of Zhao Hu with another stomp. Zhao Hu nearly fainted from the pain.
“I’ve said all I have to say. What else do you want?!”
“Let me go! I’ll pay you a million—no, five million in compensation if you let me go!”
Zhao Hu wailed in pain, begging desperately.
“Is this the extent of your suffering? Do you think I don’t know how you treated my mother and sister these past five years?”
During dinner, Qi Wuxie had already learned from his sister Tang Qingyi that the Qinglong Gang frequently caused trouble at their clinic, bullying them.
They had even injured their mother!
“You mentioned your big brother just now. Who is he?”
Qi Wuxie asked sharply.
“My big brother is Zhao Xiong, the third-in-command of the Qinglong Gang. If you let me go, I promise never to trouble you again!”
Zhao Hu replied quickly.
“Qinglong Gang…”
Qi Wuxie murmured. He had heard of this gang five years ago—it was an underground force cultivated by the Zhou family.
A cold gleam flashed across his eyes as he tossed Zhao Hu to the ground.
Back at the clinic, Qi Wuxie knocked on the door. “Mom, I’ve taken care of things. You can come out now.”
Inside, Tang Mowan and Tang Qingyi heard the agonized screams outside, their expressions filled with anxiety.
After all, Zhao Hu had brought many men. How could Qi Wuxie possibly stand against them alone?
But hearing Qi Wuxie’s voice now, the mother and daughter finally relaxed.
Opening the door, they saw many burly men lying on the ground moaning, and Zhao Hu with broken legs.
Tang Mowan’s pupils constricted slightly, shock evident on her face.
“Son, did you do all this?”
Tang Qingyi looked at her brother in disbelief as well.
Though they knew of Qi Wuxie’s strength, seeing it again was still unbelievable.
Over forty armed men, defeated by her brother alone?
Qi Wuxie smiled, “Of course it was me. I told you not to worry about me.”
“All right, Mom, Qingyi, you both go home first. I’ll handle the rest and come back soon.”
Tang Mowan and Tang Qingyi nodded and left.
After his mother and sister departed, Qi Wuxie’s face turned cold again.
“Get up if you’re not dead. Lead me to your big brother!”
Qi Wuxie approached Zhao Hu and kicked him.
Zhao Hu’s face was deathly pale as he curled in pain on the ground.
Hearing Qi Wuxie, he struggled to rise. “Help me up quickly.”
The other lying men hurried to assist Zhao Hu but dared not meet Qi Wuxie’s gaze; their eyes were full of fear.
Soon, Zhao Hu and his men led Qi Wuxie to the den of his big brother, Zhao Xiong.
Meanwhile, in a lavishly decorated nightclub in the East District, over ten middle-aged men lounged on sofas inside a luxurious private room.
Each was accompanied by two heavily made-up women, who occasionally fed grapes into their mouths.
In the middle of the sofa sat a thin, ordinary-looking man with a strikingly beautiful woman in his arms.
He was the third-in-command of the Qinglong Gang:
Zhao Xiong, Zhao Hu’s elder brother.
“Brother Xiong, I heard you have taken over the land near Dongshanping. Is it true?”
A beautiful woman purred, tracing her fingers across Zhao Xiong’s chest.
Though his face was plain, his eyes were sharp as a hawk’s, fierce and merciless.
He laughed heartily. “Haha, your sources are good.”
“Yes, recently we did take that land. I lost many brothers fighting for it!”
The woman was surprised. “Oh? Someone dared to challenge you for territory? Are they out of their minds?”
“Don’t they know, Brother Xiong, that behind you stands Young Master Zhou Tianhao of the Zhou family? If they dare to provoke you, they must have a death wish!”
Zhao Xiong snorted coldly. “The Zhou family wouldn’t bother with such things.”
“But even without their help, I, Zhao Xiong, can take that land myself!”
The woman smiled. “Of course, Brother Xiong, I have full faith in your strength. Even as the Qinglong Gang’s leader, I think you’re more than capable.”
However, upon hearing this, Zhao Xiong’s expression instantly darkened.
Smack!
He slapped the woman across the face.
Blood trickled from her lips as she knelt in terror, begging, “I’m sorry, Brother Xiong! I didn’t mean it!”
Zhao Xiong’s face remained cold as he sneered, “But you’re right. Sooner or later, the leader position will belong to me, Zhao Xiong.”
“Get up.”
The woman, feeling as if pardoned, rose, and Zhao Xiong pulled her into his arms, fondling her.
Just then, the private room’s door suddenly burst open, and a burly man strode in.
“What’s going on?”
Zhao Xiong’s face instantly turned cold.
The man grit his teeth. “Brother Xiong, there’s trouble.”
“Brother Hu’s legs have been broken, and the person who did it broke in just now!”
“What? Who dares hurt my brother and barge into my den?”
A murderous light flared in Zhao Xiong’s eyes.
Zhao Xiong was a top figure in all of Yun City.
Apart from a few powerful families, no one dared cross him.
“Brother Xiong, that guy is…”
Before the burly man could finish, loud crashes and screams came from the corridor.
Bang!
The door to the private room was smashed open, and a figure flew inside like a dead dog.
The other men inside looked at the intruder with changed expressions.
“Zhao Hu!”
The figure was none other than Zhao Hu.
Murderous intent surged in Zhao Xiong’s eyes as he rose swiftly.
“Who dares injure my brother and storm into my territory?”
Zhao Xiong shouted, staring fixedly at the door.
Amid footsteps, a handsome young man appeared before Zhao Xiong and the others.
“You’re Zhao Xiong, Zhao Hu’s brother?”
The young man was none other than Qi Wuxie.
Zhao Xiong frowned upon seeing Qi Wuxie, feeling he had seen him somewhere before.
“Brother! Save me! He’s going to kill me! You have to kill him!”
“He broke my legs! You must avenge me!”
