Although Huiniang's figure was slender, she was tall, far more imposing than Jin. So when Jin tried to raise her hand, Huiniang knocked it aside without hesitation.

Jin, furious, shouted, "Striking your mistress and defying your betters—I’ll make you pay for this!"

Huiniang handed the silk to the maid and, catching Jin off guard, seized her hair bun.

Jin wore golden hairpins, which pierced into her scalp as Huiniang pulled, causing her to cry out in pain. Both her hands grappled desperately with Huiniang.

Huiniang, tall and younger, quickly gained the upper hand, pulling out handfuls of Jin’s hair. Jin’s shawl was torn open, and in the struggle, her skirt was ripped as well. If not for fear that others would witness and expose them, Huiniang would surely have slapped Jin’s face.

Unable to fight back, Jin was soon pinned to the ground, Huiniang straddling her, hands gripping her shoulders.

Jin screamed, "Help! Someone come! You vile woman! I am your mistress, and you dare to take my cloth and strike me—have you no respect for order?"

Huiniang pressed Jin down, sneering coldly, "Let’s see who dares to help you. That cloth was stolen by you. I’ll take it to the old madam; what’s the problem?"

"That fabric was meant for the eighth daughter by the old madam!"
