Scorpion’s mind was a complete chaos. He stared blankly and spoke out.
“Wang Qingchun.”
Wang Qingchun?
Qiao Yuan gathered her thoughts and carefully recalled her experiences over the past twenty years.
After several seconds, she was absolutely sure she had never heard the name “Wang Qingchun.”
“Who is Wang Qingchun?” Qiao Yuan continued to ask.
“He is the younger brother of Wang Qingyao, the richest man in Nanyuan City.”
The richest man’s brother! How could I have gotten involved with such a figure?
Qiao Yuan grew even more curious. “Why did Wang Qingchun have you follow me?”
“I heard you pawned many mysterious treasures at Qingshan Pawnshop. Wang Qingchun got the news and sent us to follow you, to find out how many treasures you still have and where you’ve hidden them.”
Qingshan Pawnshop! That matched Qiao Yuan’s speculation quite well.
That clerk Wang Xin was obviously a clueless newbie, so the middle-aged boss must have sold her out.
“Hey! Damn it!” Scorpion suddenly snapped back to reality.
He looked at Qiao Yuan in horror. Why had he blurted out everything so carelessly when that young lady questioned him?
Qiao Yuan’s lips curled into a slight smile. “Go back and tell your master, it’s best not to make a move on me, or I will make him vanish from this world.”
Scorpion shuddered at Qiao Yuan’s mysterious gaze.
His instincts told him this young girl was not someone to mess with!
“Want to come into the shop and grab some breakfast?”
Scorpion nodded dumbly and, led by some strange impulse, stepped into the bare store.
But the next moment, a piercing scream rang out inside the shop.
Scorpion sprinted back to the black sedan at nearly a hundred meters per second.
“Bang—”
The car door slammed shut. Scorpion panted heavily.
“Damn it! This is definitely some kind of ghost!”
Dou Long saw Scorpion’s cowardly state and immediately scolded him, “Stop acting all jumpy!”
“You were supposed to follow her, why are you chatting with her?”
Scorpion turned his head, showing a smile more pitiful than tears. “Brother! That woman is strange.”
Qiangzi, in the passenger seat, sneered disdainfully, “A little girl talked to you for two minutes and you say she’s strange? What a coward!”
“No, really, she whistled at me, then began asking who sent us, what the people behind us do, and why we’re watching her.”
“Brother! I couldn’t control my mouth. I answered everything she asked. She, she must be some kind of sorceress!”
“And also! Her store! Overnight, shelves, counters, food, clothes, even hot boxed meals appeared!”
At this, Dou Long’s expression finally turned serious.
“You and Qiangzi checked yesterday, right? The store has no back door?”
Scorpion’s voice was hoarse. “No, really no back door. The stuff inside appeared out of thin air! This is creepy!”
“Let’s go meet her!”
Dou Long showed a murderous look, patting the dagger tucked in his chest.

Qiao Yuan had just brought Scorpion into the shop; she didn’t care if anyone discovered the supermarket appearing out of nowhere.
“You didn’t leave?”
After Scorpion left, Ning Jue came out from behind the shelves.
“When you went out, I saw a man following you and felt uneasy, so I waited a bit.”
Ning Jue looked out the window. Three figures were briskly approaching Qiao Yuan’s shop.
“Bang—”
The door was kicked open.
The first to enter was Qiangzi, a mountain-like figure.
Next came Dou Long, cloaked in a black coat.
Scorpion followed cautiously behind them.
“Brother, look, isn’t it just like I said?” Scorpion tugged at Dou Long’s coat.
Dou Long and Qiangzi were stunned for a moment.
Yesterday they had seen the store empty, not a single thing inside.
But after just one night, shelves were neatly arranged inside.
Counters, cash registers, refrigerators, even the boxed meal area Scorpion mentioned.
Smelling the aroma of grilled sausages, Dou Long was momentarily distracted.
“Yo! A man’s hiding here too?” Qiangzi stepped forward, fists the size of sandbags crossed over his chest.
Ning Jue instinctively shielded Qiao Yuan behind him.
He stared fiercely at the three men.
They did not come with good intentions.
Scorpion silently closed the supermarket door and drew the curtains, then stood firmly at the entrance.
“Young lady, since you know everything, let’s be frank,” Dou Long said.
“Where did you get those gold, silver, and jewels? How many more do you have? Where are they hidden?”
Qiao Yuan calmly responded to Dou Long’s triple questions.
But Ning Jue was stunned, his face full of surprise.
He hesitated, then pointed a finger at himself.
Qiao Yuan nodded seriously.
Ning Jue was taken aback — it turned out the jewelry he gave Qiao Yuan was too conspicuous, which attracted the bad guys.
Thinking this way, the matter was connected to him, and deeply so.
“Her things are none of your business! Get lost!” Ning Jue’s dark eyes narrowed, frost layered with a terrifying chill.
The cold killing intent directly pressed toward the three men.
Even Dou Long, who prided himself on being worldly, took a step back, startled by Ning Jue’s intense murderous aura.
His face flushed slightly as he straightened up.
“Who are you trying to scare, you brat who hasn’t even grown hair?” Qiangzi clenched his fists so tightly his knuckles cracked.

His shoulders tensed, waist muscles coiled, and with a sudden force, his right shoulder led his forearm in a sweeping iron fist aimed straight at Ning Jue’s face.
“Smack—”
Qiangzi held his twisted punching pose, unmoving.
Ning Jue’s slender fingers clamped tightly onto Qiangzi’s wrist, the force gradually increasing.
“Uh...” Qiangzi groaned in pain.
But he dared not move.
Because a black gun pressed against his forehead.
The cold touch of the muzzle between his brows made his heart skip a beat.
“Bro, bro, is that... a real gun?”
Ning Jue’s lips curled into a cold, chilling smile.
“Why don’t you try and find out?”
Behind Qiangzi, Dou Long sneered.
“I say, kid, who are you trying to scare with a toy gun?”
Xingguo was a society ruled by law, with the strictest gun and ammunition regulations in the world.
Not to mention a pale scholar like Ning Jue, even Dou Long, who had spent years in the underworld, had never seen a real gun.
“Bang!”
After a loud explosion, Qiangzi felt a sharp electric shock pierce his left ear; his head throbbed with ringing.
The black muzzle aimed at Qiangzi again, and he could even smell the strong scent of gunpowder.
Dou Long suddenly raised both hands, and Scorpion, panting, imitated him.
His lips twitched nonstop.
He dared not provoke anyone with a gun.
“Bro, bro, don’t be impulsive! Don’t do something stupid!” Scorpion shouted hoarsely. “Killing is illegal, murder means the death penalty, bro!”
Ning Jue seemed to just realize something.
If the police came, he could run away, but how would Qiao Yuan explain?
Thinking of this, he apologized.
“I forgot this isn’t... Would this cause you trouble?”
Qiao Yuan peeked her head out from behind him, smiling playfully.
“My supermarket has excellent soundproofing; no one outside can hear.”
This was true — when she was in the village, she had noticed this mysterious phenomenon.
No matter how loud the noise inside her grocery store, no sound escaped outside.
Once, she played a 100-decibel DJ track inside the shop.
Closing the door, standing in the yard, she couldn’t hear a thing.
So this supermarket should be the same.
Moreover, the police station was diagonally opposite; if the gunshot was loud, the police would have reacted by now, proving her theory correct.
“Do you want me to help you kill them?”
