The elevator doors opened, and just as several people were about to step in, they suddenly froze in place. Inside the elevator stood a woman dressed in pajamas, tall and strikingly beautiful with a cold demeanor.
Contrary to her aloof aura, she fixed the people outside the elevator with a warm and gentle gaze.
Seeing her, Lin Xi instinctively shivered. He noticed that beneath the elegant woman, there were no feet.
She floated slowly out of the elevator, and the people in front of the elevator began to step backward with her movement. They dared not breathe heavily, much less turn and run.
The woman walked into the lobby on the first floor of the hotel, a strange smile curling at the corner of her mouth.
Lin Xi noticed that the skinless, fat man behind the counter picked up an eyeball that had fallen onto the counter, but instead of putting it back into the socket, he bizarrely stuffed both eyes into his ear canals. As if fearing the eyeballs might fall out, he pressed them inside with his fingers forcefully.
This scene startled Lin Xi greatly, but almost immediately, he understood why the skinless man acted in such a way—because... the cold woman began to speak.
A piercing noise, sharp enough to rupture eardrums, erupted from her mouth.
“Welcome, esteemed guests, to our establishment. However, dear guests, now is not the time for leisurely wandering,” her broken voice penetrated their minds directly through their eardrums.
The blond-haired man, who had initially been vomiting, now writhed convulsively on the ground, blood pouring from every orifice.
The others, though physically stronger, were all struggling to resist the relentless noise emitted by the woman, who continued speaking without pause.
Just as everyone was about to cover their ears, Lin Xi, with bloodshot eyes, saw the woman’s lips stretch into an even more exaggerated smile directed at them.
“Thank you for the reminder, but may I say a word?” Lin Xi’s voice barely fell when the woman’s noise abruptly ceased.
The dizzy group, realizing what was happening, were about to cover their ears when Lin Xi quickly stopped them.
“Everyone, don’t cover your ears. Disrespecting her will kill you,” Lin Xi gasped, speaking to the others.
After quickly regaining his composure, Lin Xi addressed the cold woman again: “Allow me a word. First, talking too much is bad for the throat. Secondly, we will return to our rooms soon. Thank you for your concern.”
The woman’s strange smile disappeared. She stared coldly at Lin Xi for a long moment, then nodded to him before silently stepping back into the elevator.
The elevator doors closed and swiftly ascended to the fourth floor.
The group, having narrowly escaped, lay on the ground, gasping for air and trying to clear their foggy heads.
Lin Xi propped himself up on his legs, sweat beading on his forehead. After catching his breath, he hoarsely said, “Now is not, cough, rest time. Get up—we’re going upstairs.”
I'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
